Today was our final day of the summer in-residence session. It has been such a joy to work with this cohort of adult learners. They have supported each other, learned together, laughed together, and are ready to bring back what they have learned to their classrooms for the next phase of the program. The Institute staff wishes you all the best as you begin the practicum phase. We look forward to seeing you again in November.

Our Elementary II cohort had the chance to create a 'going out' experience. This is a student planned trip, where the learning continues outside of the classroom. This is a wonderful Practical Life experience for the students. They decided to go to a local market to purchase a variety of foods to prepare and sample. They created a plan, a shopping list, and a budget. Once back on campus, they were able to enjoy the treats.

There is something special that happens at the Elementary II level when the group is engaged in the Language curriculum. The conversations and debates over the correct grammar, the silly sentences created to work through sentence analysis and the deep discussions that happen while reflecting on poetry. It is amazing to see this in action each year and to see how connected everyone is to the learning process.
