InterAct Story Theatre returns to schools with KidStory Theatre Festival classroom workshops for prekindergarten through Grade 8! Interested in bringing our KidStory Theatre creative drama-based writing workshops to your school or community? Contact us at [email protected] or (301) 879-9305 about the curriculum content/topics/themes you would like us to explore with your students through theatre and creative writing!

From now through April 2027, InterAct’s teaching artists lead participating classes in a collaborative, creative drama-based writing process to create and dramatize a story rooted in the topic(s) given to us by our school partners and teachers. Our process is designed to connect with grade-level content standards and National Arts Standards in Theatre.

Each May, we choose our favorite stories and transform them into short plays, musical numbers, and vignettes performed by professional actors as part of our KidStory Theatre Festival event in 2027. We can’t wait to see what kids dream up this school year!

A big shout-out to all of the amazing teachers, students, and parents out there in our various communities. We wish you a wonderful day and a fantastic start to a great school year ahead.
