Do you love kids and being in a fun environment? Join the amazing Granola Kids team at our eco-healthy preschool and childcare in the South Four Corners neighborhood of Silver Spring. We are seeking a full-time childcare assistant available immediately. This is a curriculum based childcare where you will assist with development learning activities for children ages infant-5 years. We love to have fun and also expect our team to be prompt, reliable and focused on the children.

Duties:
-Lead and/or assist in teaching our Mother Goostime Curriculum
-Develop schedules and routines to ensure children have enough physical activity, rest and playtime
-Prepare and organize mealtimes and snacks for children
-Help children keep good hygiene
-Change the diapers of infants and toddlers

Requirements:
-Must have experience caring for children in a childcare environment and supply references
-Ability to lift toddler aged children
-Ability to be on your feet for a large part of the day
-Must be reliable and have reliable transportation
-Must pass federal background check/get fingerprinted
-Must be or become CPR certified and complete SIDS training and orientation

First and foremost, all candidates must have a genuine desire to work with young children and to assist in developmental learning activities (curriculum based). The eligible candidate must have had previous experience caring for children in a child care environment. You must be able to work in a faced pace environment and have the ability to multitask. You have to be physically able to lift toddler aged children and the ability to be on your feet for a large portion of the day. You MUST be able to pass a federal background check and be fingerprinted. You MUST become CPR certified as well as take a two hour online SIDS education training. I can assist in helping you sign up for these two courses. The Maryland Department of Education will require an assistant to go to a one day only orientation as well.
