A BIG UP to this kindness crew! ✨

Our last week of Summer Discovery was filled with all things KINDNESS! We themed our kindnesses activities and books around the grooviest and kind friend, Pete the Cat! 🐱

We made magical sunglasses to remind us that we can see the good in all things. We moved our bodies during Yoga with Ms. Catey to: “ I Love my White Shoes.” We created an ongoing paper kindness chain that measured in at 200 links by the end of the week! 🕶️🤸🏽‍♂️

And of course it wouldn’t be a week of Summer Discovery at SSDS without water play, face painting, bracelet making, tattoos, bike riding, tree climbing, bubble blowing, popsicle deliciousness…and shaving cream shenanigans (swipe to the last slide for a giggle)! 🪣💦🎨🚲 🫧💭

We embraced the social emotional development of showing kindness through art, movement, and bonding with new & old friends. What a kindness a crew we became! 💗

It has been a fantastic six weeks of summer fun at SSDS. We can’t wait to see everyone back soon for a groovy new school year! 🎸

SSDS still has openings for 2 and 3 year olds for this upcoming school year.

Out in the sun, getting WET! We are gearing up for a toasty couple of days with lots of water play! 💦

This week of “Budding Artists”, we did a deep dive into the art of the amazing illustrator, artist, and storyteller — Eric Carle! 🎨🖌️🖼️📖

Our campers learned his creative process of how to paint paper, wood & cardboard with all types of varying mediums — forks, textured brushes, rollers.

Once dried, we added more layers using wax crayons, paint sticks and tissue paper.

Finally, we cut up our paper creations into various shapes and began to collage!

The process was unique to each child’s individual choice of how they wished to collage…and wow the magic we created! 🪄

Our friends got their waterplay in before the storm blew in. ⛈️

Everyday our big wooden swing meets countless smiley children! ✨

Sounds and looks like summertime when there is waterplay, sunshine & sweet friends involved! 💦☀️💗

Week 2 & 3 of Summer Discovery brought out the story tellers and inventors in us! 📖💡

Next up, we become budding artists! 🎭🎨

Too much fun to quit is RIGHT! Our froggy sprinkler is a fan favorite at Summer Discovery! 🐸💦

Week one of Summer Discovery: Community of Friends and Family…is in the books! ☀️

We explored the people in our families, school, and neighborhood — all of who make us hum!

We built communities out of different materials and talked about what talents are needed to help build and keep those communities going.

It was a fantastic first week and we cannot wait for five more! 💦🚲🪏🫟📿☀️🫧

Our last days of school were filled with hugs, popsicles, glow parties, gift giving, the oh so loved photo books, and all the “regular” preschool magic that happens each and every day at SSDS. So many memories made. 💗
