Today, we were blessed with a very special visit from one of Pathways’ founding board members, Dave Peters, husband of Pathways’ first Executive Director, the late Rev. Sharon Peters. 💙

It was a meaningful opportunity to come together, share memories, and reflect on Pathways’ incredible journey and recent recognition with the Maryland General Assembly's citation for "45 years of dedicated service to Maryland students and families through school- and community-based programs". 💙

We are grateful for those whose vision, dedication, and compassion helped build the foundation of Pathways and for everyone who continues that legacy today. What a special way to honor our history and the many lives touched along the way. 💙💙

💙📚 Back to school at Pathways! Our students, families, and staff are coming together with excitement and great energy for the new school year. ✨

Last week’s staff orientation kicked things off with wonderful momentum, with our special keynote speaker, Dr. Mark James, helping us launch the year on an inspiring note. We also celebrated 45th year of Pathways serving students across DC and Maryland 🎉 and recognized Joy Spain for 40 years of dedicated service. 💙👏

We’re grateful for our Pathways family, our community partners, and everyone who helps make this work possible. Here’s to a great year ahead! 🙌

Pathways ESY 2026 was a success! 💙🌟

This summer, 25 students participated, including one graduating senior. Students earned SSL hours, improved attendance, stepped outside their comfort zones, and built skills for the 2026-2027 school year.

One student engaged in a fashion design internship to strengthen her college portfolio, while others explored science and space at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center and the Maryland Science Center, discovered creativity at the Visionary Art Museum, and developed critical independent living skills in the community. 💙🧵🚀

🎉 Congratulations to the Class of 2026—we are so proud of all you have accomplished! 🎉

Despite the many snow days ❄️ and unexpected challenges this year, our seniors remained determined to reach their goal of graduation, continuing to imagine new possibilities 💡, innovate through obstacles 🚀, and inspire one another 🌟 along the way. While each student traveled a different path, their hard work, resilience, and perseverance led them to the same destination—earning their diploma 🎓. We are grateful to have been part of their journey and thankful for the collective support of families, staff, community partners, and county teams whose commitment helped make this achievement possible. 💙🩵

💙 In honor of Staff Appreciation Week, we’re sharing a powerful message from one of our 2013 Anne Arundel graduates and 2024 staff member, Gene Dayhaw. 🌟

Gene delivered an incredible speech at the MANSEF Conference last Friday, May 1, to hundreds of educators from MANSEF schools across the area. 💙It was heartfelt, emotional, and genuinely moving.

We’re sharing it here as a simple reminder—and a thank you to our entire Pathways family and all MANSEF staff: what you do matters. ✨ Every day, your work changes lives in ways that are seen, felt, and remembered.

Early last month, our Anne Arundel students rolled up their sleeves for something truly meaningful 💙

In partnership with last year’s Community Partner of the Year, the Blue Ribbon Project, and their Backpacks of Love initiative, students helped bring comfort and dignity to children entering foster care—often with very few belongings.

Each student chose an age group, picked a backpack, and packed it with essentials and thoughtful extras 🎒✨

Our Edgewood school-based students had an amazing time with returning artist Ssuuna from Arts for Learning Maryland! 🥁✨
The room was full of rhythm, energy, and big smiles as students jumped into hands-on drumming and found their groove. 🎶
We’re grateful to have Ssuuna back, bringing the beat and the fun!
