2020 CHW students created a project that consisted of making care packages for the less fortunate, in order to obtain their clinical hours needed! Instead of exposing anyone further to COVID we decided to give them to the awesome EMT staff in Silver City who were willing to hand them out to those in need as they came in contact with them! Shout out to CHI including Forward NM for providing the materials and special THANKS to the Silver City EMT Team for being willing to help get these out!

The CHW Class of 2020 began their journey at this program at a difficult time in history! COVID-19 hit during their coursework and traveled well into their clinicals. We had to be inventive and these students did just that! They began writing letters and cards to the elderly at our local care center. The staff was very appreciative and accepted all the cards with smile. (behind the mask of course)😷
