🌽 Hands-on fun in the kitchen! 🌽

For September, our Roving Chef program brought some extra flavor and creativity to the Silsbee Elementary cafeteria!

To celebrate this month’s Harvest of the Month—corn—our talented student chefs rolled up their sleeves and made delicious Corn Cookies from scratch.

It was a fantastic way for students to learn about where their food comes from, explore unique seasonal recipes, and build practical cooking skills. Check out these photos of our future chefs at work! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Today we celebrated Cafeteria Lunch Hero Day here in Silsbee ISD! 🍎🥪
A huge thank you to the amazing cafeteria staff who work so hard every day to keep everyone fed, happy, and energized. Your dedication, kindness, and behind-the-scenes effort never go unnoticed—not just today, but every day. 💛

🎉 SFE hosted our first Flavor Fest at the Silsbee ISD high school, and it was a great success! 🍽️
Students and staff had the opportunity to sample a variety of foods, and we were proud to partner with some of our amazing vendors to make it happen 🤝
Featured items included:
🍗 Jerk Chicken Stackers
🌮 Carne Asada Burritos
🫐🥬🍌 Kale, Banana & Blueberry Smoothie Bowls

🌟🤠 Western Day at the Farmers Market! 🥕🌽
Today our students at Laura Reeves Primary in Silsbee ISD got to experience a little taste of the farmers market during Western Day! 🐄🌾 Our young cowboys and cowgirls explored new flavors and learned how fun healthy foods can be.
On the menu today:
⭐ Star Fruit
🥑 Avocado Smoothies
🫑 Mini Peppers & 🥒 Cucumbers with Everything Bagel Cream Cheese Dip
🌱 Blue Lake Green Beans with a Lemon Vinaigrette
It was so exciting watching students try new fruits and vegetables—many for the very first time! Moments like these help build healthy habits and adventurous eaters.

At Silsbee High School & Middle School, we’re serving up a delicious bowl of Chicken & Sausage Gumbo — full of rich, Cajun flavor and perfect for celebrating Fat Tuesday!
At Silsbee Elementary, students will enjoy a hearty plate of Chicken & Sausage Jambalaya — a classic Louisiana favorite!

Love was in the air (and in the kitchen!) at Silsbee Elementary today! 💕
We kicked off our early Valentine’s Day celebration with personal heart-shaped pizzas made just for our amazing students. 🍕❤️
Nothing says “We care” like a warm, cheesy pizza made with a little extra love! We hope our students enjoyed this special treat as much as we enjoyed making it for them.
