Meet the Field of Dreamer, a bright, herbaceous cocktail made with Beefeater gin, Dolin Dry Vermouth, carrot, lemon, basil, and orange bitters. Available in both fully leaded and NA, our guy Dreamer thanks you! He’s also making sure there aren’t any carrots being obscured by my cell phone camera.

✨ 4 Saturdays Until Stirrups & Stardust! ✨

We are officially less than a month away from our first Stirrups & Stardust fundraiser.

Before we get into what you can expect, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to the incredible businesses, organizations, and community members who have already stepped up to support this event.

Your sponsorships, donations, and support are helping us make this night possible, and helping Brighter Horizons Equine continue providing opportunities for healing, connection, and healing through the herd.

What can you expect on September 19th?

✨Cowboy Cocktail Attire🤠💃✨
Think cocktail with a bit of western. Cowboy hats, dresses, bolo ties, denim, sparkle, and of course Cowboy boots and belt buckles, have fun with it and make it your own.

Food Trucks
Come hungry! We’ll have local food truck available to purchase from throughout the evening.

Wine & Beer + Non-Alcoholic Beverages
Our beverage station will feature wine, beer, coffee, water, and soda.

Silent Auction & Paddle Raise
We’ve been gathering some pretty amazing items and experiences, and we can’t wait to show you what’s in store.

Live Music & Dancing
We’re still putting the finishing touches on our lineup, but you can count on music and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the evening.

Today in horse camp we’re learning equine colors and marking. Here we are working on the differences between our two toasted marshmallows. One is a cremello Morgan, and one is a perlino Quarter Horse. Can you tell which is which?

We also have two chestnuts and three bay horses, but each of those have distinct markings making it much easier to tell the difference.

Today was nutrition and western traditions. We made horse treats, practiced our gratuity, learned to lasso, and of course cleaned stalls and brushed horses.
Not as many pictures today as it was all hands on deck for our three different groups of the day.

I came here to say it too…our happy campers and staff cannot get enough of the ears and eyelashes!

Double extra thanks to Brooke Moore Bates for bringing her sweet mule Jasper as a special guest today, and for the amazing photo of Pirate’s new best friend.

It was a blast to watch jaws drop and minds open as we talked about (and felt!) the skeletal differences between horses and mules.

Thank you Brooke Moore Bates for bringing Jasper and Buddy to camp.

Today Maya and Erin taught about the skeleton and saddles to go over the differences between Mules and English and Western saddles. More pictures to come with end of week round up.
