Chatham Co. Training School/Chatham High School - CCTS/CHS Alumni Assoc. To unite fellow alumnus from the Chatham County Training/Chatham High School in Siler City, NC In 1942-43 the 12th grade was added.

Chatham County Training School, located on East 5th Street opened it's doors in 1932 with 1st through 11th grades. CCTS grew from the following small elementary schools, located in different communities: Siler City School, Gees Grove, Hickory Mountain & Jordan Grove. Chatham County Training School was the first High School for blacks in the county. The class of 1954 was the last class to graduate

from Chatham County Training School. In 1954, the name was changed to Chatham High School. The student body consisted of grades 1st through 12th. After the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the integration of blacks and whites began in 1965-1966 under the Freedom Choice Plan. The merger of Chatham High School and Jordan-Matthews High School began in 1968 and completed in 1969. The class of 1969 was the last class to graduate from Chatham High School.
