🎭✨ Ever wonder what goes on behind the curtain of a professional theatre? Buena’s Stagecraft (Theatre Technology) students are getting a front-row seat to it all!

They kicked off the year with a backstage tour of the Klein Center — including a climb to the grid 53 feet above the stage floor! 🚡

Taught by industry pros Mrs. Duerk and Ms. Hampton, Stagecraft CTE classes give students hands-on experience in every technical aspect of theatre: costume design, lighting, sound engineering, and stage management.

As students grow in the program, they can join the crews for Buena’s five annual mainstage shows — and even land paid technician positions for community events hosted at the Klein Center. 💡🎶

Stagecraft is just one of the incredible CTE opportunities at Buena that prepare students for life beyond high school. 👏

Congratulations to these aspiring health care professionals. A big congratulations to these high school students who have achieved Home Health and/or CNA certifications. Some are Juniors who reached this milestone school year, which is often the most challenging year for high school. Are you a health care oriented student? Consider Buena. Get dual credit through Cochise College while still in high school. The best part? Buena CTE pays for the courses!

Congrats Buena DECA!

Buena Auto made an appearance last weekend at Kars for Kids! Mr. Bounds and students demonstrated how to remove spark plugs. We have some very talented mechanics entering our community!

Buena High School Criminal Justice Club students participated in a joint training exercise with Rio Rico High school students and the and Arizona Department of Public Safety Gang Task Force. Students received tactical training on high risk traffic stops, identifying gang behavior, suspicious activity, undercover scenario's, defensive tactics, and training on individuals experiencing mental health crisis. This training was very beneficial for students looking at careers in the law enforcement career field.

There are always exciting things happening with Buena DECA! Time is approaching fast ~ 4 more weeks until ICDC in Florida! Congratulations ! We cant wait to see what you accomplish
