Buena and Sky Island MTB Teams had another amazing race in Prescott, AZ! Buena took first place D1 and Sky Island took 4th in D2. Check out this awesome Reel showing off our student athletes and their skills on the trails.

Today was an AMAZING day for all our Buena and Sky Island athletes!! BUENA- 1ST Place 🥇 D1 & SKY ISLAND- 7th Place🏅D2. I am overwhelmed with pride at their determination and character. Every single one of these kids raced their hearts out. Let’s keep this momentum rolling through the season.
Also, a huge shout out to our committed volunteer coaches who dedicate so much time and energy into the development of these athletes.
We are also very fortunate to have the BEST PARENT support in the league. In many sports, parents can be a lot to deal with. We have gold star parents who show up, get their kids to practices, travel all across the state and volunteer to make race weekend a huge success.

The Buena, Sky Island and Tombstone MTB awards banquet had a great turn out! These young athletes, coaches and families have built bonds and connections that have created what our Team culture is all about! Great food! Amazing friends and good times! CONGRATULATIONS to our 5 graduating seniors. Keep pedaling your bike and focus on conquering all the “hills” in life.

Hello! I'm Head Coach Jen Damato and Bob Ford is our Team Director. Are you interested to learn what the mountain bike team is all about? To start, we have the Buena High School Team (9th-12th Buena Student) and also our Sky Island Flyers Composite Team (grades 6-12).

If you enjoy an adventure and want to try a sport that builds confidence and strength while having loads of fun with teammates...this is the sport for you! We accept riders at all ability levels, from beginners who are just learning the basics to athletes who love riding bikes and competing.

It is with heavy hearts that I share the sad news of the passing of our beloved mountain bike coach, Coach Mark, who left us today. He was not just a coach but a mentor, a friend, and an inspiring figure for many of us.

Coach Mark dedicated his time to fostering a love for mountain biking, pushing us to reach new heights both on and off the trails. His passion and enthusiasm were infectious, and he always encouraged us to challenge ourselves and support one another.

As we grieve this profound loss, let us also celebrate the incredible impact Mark had on many of our lives and the countless memories we created together. We will always cherish his spirit and the lessons he imparted to us.

We will honor his memory together soon.
