In the brain, a sulcus is a groove or furrow, especially one on the surface of the brain. In most people, the central sulcus is deeper on one side, which corresponds with the dominant hand. Scientists have scanned the brains of pianists and found a unique trait. Many pianists have a more symmetrical central sulcus. They develop into ambidextrous beings.

Ambidexterity enhances your cognitive abilities, improving memory and attention span, and creative thinking. This bilateral coordination is also important for seniors, as it can slow the cognitive decline sometimes associated with aging.
