BASIA LUKSA TURNER | Administrative Assistant

Basia Luksa Turner is grateful for Start Singing! She stuck her neck out and trusted the little voice that said, “Wouldn’t it be interesting if…” and then did it. It is through this phenomenal program that she found her voice of courage and power to speak out, to be clear, and to be confident!

Basia combines an open mind with a strong spirit, and by these virtues she thrives on learning, tackling challenges, and taking aligned risks. Her ability to connect with people through a common goal and purpose allows her to dedicate herself to the service of others. At the core of her being is her ability to lead and empower others to experience their own strengths and self worth.

When asked why she has taken such a pro-active life style, she answers simply, “Because I can.”

As a proud Brooklynite, Basia graduated from Kingsborough Community College as a Phi Theta Kappa Honor student. While living in New Hampshire, she studied theatre at M&D Productions and had the privilege of performing in, Spring Awakening, as Frau F***y Gabor.

Basia’s adoration for travel and the art of yoga and meditation fuel her passion to create guided healing retreats. Her professional experience includes work within the hospitality industry and consulting firms. Most recently, she worked for the New York City Council and also assists multiple small businesses including KT Painting and New Sun Heating and Cooling Services.

Basia is grateful for life and for trusting that little voice that has given her the ability to laugh, love, and LIVE!

DMITRY GLIVINSKI | Accompanist

Dmitry Glivinski is a Ukrainian collaborative pianist and vocal coach.
After settling in New York, he participated in many festivals and performed in such venues as CAMi Hall, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Ukrainian Institute and Bohemian National Hall among others around Europe and in China.

Dmitry has had masterclasses with Phillippe Entremont, Eteri Andjaparidze, Roger Muraro, Pavel Gililov, Jay Gottlieb, and many others. He has performed with several orchestras in NY, including Park Avenue Chamber Symphony, Bach Society of Columbia University, Sound Symphony, and Centre Symphony.
He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from Mannes College of Music where he received his Bachelor of Music degree as a student of Pavlina Dokovska, and the Peabody Institute where he studied with Boris Slutsky, receiving a Master of Music degree and completing a Graduate Assistantship in accompanying.

Dmitry has worked with numerous opera companies as a répétiteur and is currently the assistant conductor at Regina Opera in Brooklyn, New York. This summer, he will be one of the Opera coaching fellows at the Aspen Music Festival.
