Join us at this years Western Nebraska Early Child Hood Conference on Oct. 3rd in Gering!

This conference brings together early childhood professionals for a full day of learning, reflection, and hands-on practice designed to strengthen resilience, deepen instructional skills, and elevate high-quality care across Nebraska. Participants will engage in sessions that support both caregiver well-being and children’s healthy development, with opportunities to explore trauma-informed practices, executive functioning, play- based learning, and developmentally appropriate activities for infants through preschoolers.

This Labor Day, we’re celebrating the people who work hard to shape the future—our Early Childhood Providers!

Every day, early childhood educators show up with patience, creativity, compassion, and a whole lot of heart. They comfort little ones who miss home, celebrate first steps and new words, turn everyday moments into learning opportunities, and help children build the skills they will carry with them for years to come.

Their work may happen in small classrooms, family child care homes, preschools, and child care centers—but the impact is BIG.

To every early childhood provider: thank you for the work you do, the love you give, and the difference you make every single day. You are not just caring for children—you are helping build strong families, communities, and a brighter future.

The Future of Child Care Is Growing in Nebraska!

There is exciting momentum building around child care across our state!

Child Care Can is a new statewide, multi-year campaign launched in Nebraska, focused on addressing child care shortages and making quality child care more affordable and accessible for Nebraska families.

So, what does this mean?

Work toward creating more opportunities for quality, affordable child care across Nebraska.

🏡 Support Families & Communities
Recognize child care as essential infrastructure that helps families work, communities thrive, and businesses attract and retain employees.

🤝 Build a Stronger Coalition
Nebraska is joining a growing movement of states working together to make long-term investments in child care. Nebraska is the fifth state to launch this model, joining Iowa, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Montana.

A Legacy of Imagination 💛

The passing of Dolly Parton is a heartbreaking reminder that some people leave a legacy that reaches far beyond their lifetime.

Through Dolly’s Imagination Library, millions of children have had the opportunity to receive books from an early age—helping foster a love of reading, imagination, curiosity, and learning.
