🎨To all my dear art buddies out there —wondering what has happened to Art4AllAges—I am here to post an update.
I have been busy making art since the March shutdown. I hope you are making art, too!!👨🏻‍🎨👩🏻‍🎨.
So what about classes this fall??
After much soul searching, I am sorry to say that I must continue to stay closed for now for in person art classes. Having so many people into our home in the small room that is the studio just doesn’t feel comfortable to me yet😕.
I miss all of you!! I miss watching art happen from all your fingertips! I keep finding ideas and start planning how to teach them to you all...
Just going to have to continue “on pause” for now.🤷🏻‍♀️

Keep creating!!!💫.
(If you need some supplies, let me know and I’ll see what I have!!)

I will leave you with a few photos of an acrylic painting and some little pastel studies I have done recently 😊

Good afternoon!!
I have two different projects today(well, actually three😊)!
#1: Since the weatherman is saying we might get a preview of summer on Thursday, I picked an outdoor paint project you can do barefoot and in shorts and a t-shirt. It’s a science-kind if thing, too!! (And it’s messy—sort of 😂). You will need your bike, a piece of poster board, scissors, tape, and paint(thinned down). If you don’t do it in the grass, you will also need a tarp or old sheet)! Yup! We’re gonna “spin paint” with your bicycle!!! This idea is from an Artful Parent “action art for kids” booklet by Jean Van’t Hul. Directions will be with the photos.

#2(and #3): “blow painting” (and person with wind-blown hair painting)
You will need card stock or other heavy paper, straws, scissors, thick craft needle, liquid watercolors or thinned down tempera, a dropper or pipette. For the #3 lesson you need a piece of heavy paper, a pencil and a permanent marker (and crayons, optional)
Directions are with the photos again.

Have a creative blast!!!🎨🧑🏻‍🎨👨🏻‍🎨👩🏻‍🎨

👩🏻‍🎨Greetings!!!🌷

Today let’s make:
🦋folded print butterflies!!🦋

You will need:
As many sheets of heavy white paper such as card stock or mixed media paper as you want. (My paper is 9” x 12”), a small sticker such as a hole reinforcement, pan watercolors or tempera pucks, brushes, a container of water, and paper towels or a rag.
To make the butterfly template you will need a piece of paper, pencil, and scissors.

BRRR!!!!!!
I think we need some art to bring spring back!!
🌷 Tulip Art! 🌷
( I found this cute idea years ago online from
Kids Play Box).
Materials needed:
Paper (my example is on copier paper, but you can used mixed media or watercolor paper if you have it), old credit card or stiff cardboard to spread “sky” and “grass” paints, forks (of various sizes), paper plate or some kind of palette, paints (I used tempera paints), paper towels or wet rags to wipe off hands and forks😊
Have fun and, as always, share your art with me!!

👩🏻‍🎨Make art like Louise Nevelsen!!🎨

So, traditionally April is Earth/Recycle Month with Earth Day celebrated on the 22nd (which is also Arbor Day—plant trees day—begun in Nebraska 🥰). It is a perfect time to claim a cardboard box, toilet paper or paper towel rolls, cardboard egg cartons and such from your recycling container!! You will also need glue, tape and scissors.

Abstract Expressionist, Louise Nevelsen, was a Russian immigrant who made art sculptures from “junk” she rounded up (such as table legs, drawers, spools, and later metal) in New York City 100 years ago. Often she painted the finished art all white or all black. I am sharing some pictures of her and her work ( #1-5)
Ideas for all ( #6-11)
Ideas for older kids( #12-16)
Ideas for littles( #17-19)
An expanded idea( #20)
Here we go!!
Send pictures of your masterpieces!!!

💡 Art ideas 💡
Printmaking: take vegetables such as the end of lettuce(see photo) or peppers, potatoes, carrots, etc. and press them into paint and then press them onto paper!
Make patterns.
With the ends of lettuce(which look like flowers) you could add drawn or painted stems and leaves and create a garden.

🎨Happy Saturday!🎨
Are you painting snow today???❄️ or are you building snow sculptures?? Did anyone make a dragon or a bear??? (don’t forget to share pictures!)😊

👨🏻‍🎨Today I’m sharing another idea—let’s do something different! Let’s make a weaving.👩🏻‍🎨
Here’s what you need: a paper plate (such as Chinet brand), paint or markers, yarn, embroidery thread, string, or ribbons, scissors, and masking tape.
First you will paint your plate (or color it with crayons or markers).
After it is dry, you will cut off the edge with scissors. (Please save the left over cardboard for a future project😊 **also save cereal boxes, egg cartons, and toilet rolls😂).
Next you will cut tiny notches around the plate—you can cut however many you want!
Take your yarn or other weaving material and tape one end to the back of your plate.
Now start weaving by winding the yarn around and around the circle, taking the yarn trough a notch at each pass. Experiment with different crisscross patterns. Tape the end to the back!
You can use different materials and do it again!
**AND older children can try weaving in and out of their design with another piece of yarn or ribbon—you don’t even have to tape it dow, but you can. Justremember”over/under, over/under” as you weave!
Have fun!!☀️
