On August 8th, dedicated jazzers from across New York joined Mr. Norris in his Guilford Garagatorium, for an afternoon of music and fun. It was another enjoyable outing, and Mr. Norris hopes more of you can join him for Jazz Jam 3, in 2027! Enjoy the performance. Be well, be blessed, and let's stay in touch!

Hey everyone, happy summer 🙂

Hope your summer is going well. Just a quick heads up - as of today (July 15), there are only seven people signed up for the Jam on August 8. Saxophone, Trombone and Guitar/Bass (seven people) is not enough to put together a viable group, in my opinion. If the numbers stay the same, I will reach out to just the people who responded, and discuss a potential "Plan B." Let me know what's what by Friday, and we'll take it from there.

Be well, and stay in touch 🎵

Please complete no later than Friday, July 17th.

Hey everyone, happy Wednesday 🙂

So, as of today (July 8th) there are the following instruments signed up for the 2026 wdition of the NorrDogg Jazz Jam ...

* 3 saxophones
* 2 trombones
* 1 bass

Hmmmmm, it seems a little imbalanced, wouldn't you say? Sign up sooner, rather than later. The deadline (July 17) is fast approaching. You know you want to ... 🎵

Please complete no later than Friday, July 17th.

On November 29th, Camille Bagley, Allayna Bidwell, Cole Goodspeed and Aidan Moodley performed in the fall semester concert of the Hartwick College Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Gregg Norris. Both the jazz combo. and jazz ensemble energized the audience with some great jazz music. Look for more from this talented quartet in the spring concert as well 🎵

These fine young musicians represented our department well at the 6th Annual Hartwick College Honor Band. They joined students from 20+ schools in New York for a fun filled day of music making. Thanks to the special guest conductor Matthew Marist from the Boston Conservatory and Hartwick’s own Andy Pease (who managed to photo bomb us again this year.)

Members of the Sidney CSD Tri-M Music Honor Society Chapter 2934 at their Adopt-a-Highway Fall Cleanup. A small section of NYS-8 is much cleaner thanks to your efforts. Way to go folks.
