We caught 17 frogs with the kids this year! 🐸 I had a feeling it was going to be a good frog-catching year, and it definitely was! We had a blast hooting and hollering, helping one another, and celebrating every catch.

The kids got a little muddy, but as I told them, dirty kids have the most fun! 😂

I’ve always wanted to have a frog race with them, but we’ve never caught enough frogs before. This year, we finally did—and it meant so much to me because having a frog race every Fourth of July with my daughter is such a special childhood memory. I loved getting to share a little piece of that tradition with these kids. ❤️🐸

🌱 Saplings Stop & Shop 🌱

I am SO proud of these kids! They helped gather all the items, wiped things down and carefully arranged everything on the tables. They made signs, decided on prices and absolutely impressed me with their money skills!

They loved bringing their favorite game of “store” to life—with real money and real customers! Some brought their own money and shopped, too. It was so sweet watching one child pick out items for her grandma, while one little boy was determined to buy cooking tongs for his dad and a candle for his mom. 🥹

The girls had a blast dressing up in the heels, and one little girl brought a clipboard every day so she could create prices for the items. They greeted customers, bagged purchases and proudly pretended they were real employees.

We also talked about how store employees greet and treat their customers—and how employees need to put on their best face and continue working together even when a coworker upsets them. They did a fantastic job!

One of my favorite moments was when my mom was expected to stop by and I asked the children to create an outfit for her. It was such a funny and memorable part of the day! 😂

Altogether, the children raised an amazing $160! Now they get to vote on some new toys for the daycare. They worked hard, learned so much and had an absolute blast doing it. 💚

I completely forgot to post these from last week! ❤️

One of the highlights of summer at Little Saplings is our annual Bike Week! The kids look forward to it every year, and not even a rainy day could stop them. They were so excited to get outside that they happily rode their bikes in the rain! 🚲🌧️

It made me think back to a rainy summer day a few years ago when we decided to throw on our bathing suits, turn up the music, and dance in the pouring rain. What started as a spontaneous way to make the best of a gloomy day turned into one of those memories we’ll never forget.

Ever since then, one of our sweet little girls has made it her mission to suggest “rain play” every time the clouds roll in. 💙 Sometimes the best childhood memories aren’t made on the perfect sunny days—they’re made by embracing the unexpected, getting a little wet, laughing a lot, and simply enjoying being a kid.

Here’s to another Bike Week full of smiles, adventure, and making memories that will last a lifetime! ☔🚲💕

This week at Little Saplings Childcare was filled with leadership, learning, and lots of summer fun! ☀️🍋💛

A special shoutout to our amazing helpers this week—Quinn, Xiomara, Amelia, and Hazel! Each of them showed leadership in their own unique way by helping others, making thoughtful choices, and setting a positive example. I’m so proud of the kindness and responsibility they brought to our group this week.

One of our favorite activities this week was making fresh-squeezed lemonade. It was definitely a little sticky… but so much fun and absolutely delicious! 🍋 We used the activity to talk about the saying, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” We learned that everyone has days when things don’t go as planned, but true leaders look for the good, solve problems, and make the best of every situation. Sometimes a sour moment can become something pretty sweet!

Of course, summer wouldn’t be complete without cooling off on the slip ’n slide! 💦 There were lots of smiles, laughter, and excitement as the kids raced, splashed, and cheered each other on. Watching them encourage one another and simply enjoy being kids is one of the best parts of summer.

I’m so thankful to spend these summer days making memories, teaching life lessons, and watching these amazing kids grow into kind, confident leaders—one adventure at a time. ❤️

🌱 Leadership Week at Little Saplings Childcare! 🌱

What an incredible week we had! I couldn’t be prouder of these amazing kids and the growth they showed.

This week we introduced a new Leader of the day program, and together we talked about what it truly means to be a leader. The children came up with wonderful examples like being kind, helping others, including friends, solving problems, using respectful words, staying positive, celebrating others, and making good choices—even when things don’t go our way.

Each morning we reflected on the previous day and shared examples of leadership we noticed. It was so special to hear the children recognize not only their own acts of leadership, but also the leadership they saw in their friends. Those conversations quickly became one of my favorite parts of our day.

I also want to give a special shout-out to our older children. We recently welcomed some younger friends into our Little Saplings family, and while that can be a big adjustment, they have been doing an amazing job learning how to be patient, inclusive, and positive role models. They are helping show our youngest children what it means to be part of the Little Saplings family and are setting a wonderful example for our future Little Saplings leaders. 💚

Congratulations to this week’s Leaders! 🎉 You demonstrated what it means to help make Little Saplings a kind, safe, and respectful place.

One of the most important lessons we learned this week is that leaders are not perfect. Leaders make mistakes too—they take responsibility, learn from them, and keep trying.

If your child wasn’t chosen this week, don’t worry! Every child has the opportunity to become a leader. Every new day brings a new chance to show kindness, responsibility, respect, encouragement, problem-solving, and leadership. I can’t wait to see all the wonderful examples our Little Saplings continue to show in the weeks ahead! 🌱❤️

The kids have been busy everyday after school making small crafts each day for their bunny house. Yesterday we got to plant the lawn, paint and carefully place all the pieces around the house. They really enjoyed this 2 week project and it was nice to see the boys get into it too! They created their own little play bunny houses and are so very proud! Happy Easter from little saplings childcare!!!
