We had a great time in Haynesville this weekend at the Claiborne Classic!
*Hallee Clayton placed first in Showmanship with Crayon the sheep.
*Henleigh Moore placed second in showmanship and first in market class with Elvis the pig.
*Skylar Ellis, Dixie Miller, and Sawyer Pitman all participated with their goats as well. Skylar took home 5th in showmanship and 4th in market. Dixie placed 7th in showmanship and 9th in market.
Great job to these Lakeside FFA members! They will be back at it in Coushatta this weekend!

The Red River Showdown was the first show that all of the Lakeside FFA animal showmen made it to together!
*Hallee Clayton earned 3rd place in showmanship with Crayon the sheep in her first show.
*Sawyer Pitman earned 4th and 5th in market with his goats.
*Dixie Miller got 4th in market with her goats, Howdy and Huck, at her first show.
*Skylar Ellis placed 4th in market with her goat Hank in her first show.
*Henleigh Moore placed 4th in market with Elvis the pig.

So proud of these kids! They are learning and growing every week.

Our next show is at the Claiborne Parish Fairgrounds in Haynesville Friday night 6pm (pigs) and Saturday at 10am(sheep and goats). Entry is free! Come out and support if you can!

Lakeside FFA members achieved some major accomplishments in the livestock shows at the Watermelon Festival in DeRidder this weekend.

Sawyer Pitman blew us away in his first ever show, earning First Place in senior showmanship and Reserve Champion Showmanship! He also got 4th and 5th in his market class. Incredible job, Sawyer!

Henleigh Moore was back at it with Elvis, and she got 4th in showmanship in her class! Mr. Utley even got in on the fun in an adult showmanship class.

Lakeside FFA students continue to prove that hard work and dedication lead to great success! We can’t wait to see how these two and everyone else grow and perform throughout the summer and into fall!

Lakeside FFA is so proud of Carter Reeves and her performance at the Northwest District Horse Show 2026. Her placings were:
Halter – 3rd
Western Showmanship – 3rd
Open Trail – 1st
Ranch Trail – 1st
Ranch Riding – 2nd
Stock Horse Pleasure – 2nd
Western Horsemanship – 2nd
Reining – 1st
Barrels – 3rd
Poles – 1st
Stakes – 3rd

We are so proud of sophomore Henleigh Moore and her performance at the first pig show of the summer on Friday night. She and Elvis traveled to Natchitoches and placed 4th in his weight class in the market competition, and they get better everyday in showman! She has put in so many hours since April working with our pigs, and her hard work is paying off! Great job, Henleigh!
