Kiddie Kottage Pre-School offers an early start program on Core & NY State Mandated Curriculum for children ages 2-5 through structured classroom activities, song & dance, interactive play, and fun learning. Advanced Pre-K program for older 4's, 5's, & children who miss the cut-off. We specialize in the development of the whole child with integrated Spanish, exercise, & yoga.

Kiddie Kottage Fire Prevention Visit

On Monday morning 10/16/23, Mohegan FD visited the Kiddie Kottage Preschool on Shrub Oak. Our Fire Prevention Program made this visit as part of Fire Prevention Month. The students learned many fire and safety tips during a lecture plus saw our turnout gear. The kids also got to interact with Sparky the Fire Dog and Freddie the Fire Truck. Once outside, the kids saw all the equipment carried on Engine 256 and even got to spray the hose. As we are ending the month, contiue to be on the look out for our Fire Prevention Team as we continue to visit many schools and community events!

For the parents, some of the topics discussed which may be brought home for further discussion are:

1) Dialing 911
2) Stop Drop and Roll
3) E.D.I.T.H (Exit Drills In The Home) with a focus on having a safe spot for everyone to meet (mailbox, tree, neighbor’s house etc) in case of a fire or emergency
4) Never play with Matches/Lighters
5) Changing batteries on smoke and/or CO detectors with the clock change “Change your Clock, Change your Battery”
