Dear LCSD Community, Due to the anticipated changeover to freezing rain and the potential for icy road conditions later today, the Lakeland Central School District will be closed today.

With a Winter Weather Advisory in Putnam County and possible ice aligning with dismissal hours, this decision was made out of an abundance of caution.

❄️ Today is our last traditional snow day.
📅 March 20 (Superintendent’s Conference Day) will now be a regular school day for students.
💻 Any additional closures this year will shift to remote learning.

LCSD Update ❄️

All Lakeland Central School District schools and buildings will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, due to continued cleanup from the Blizzard of 2026. All activities are canceled.

Huge thanks to our facilities and transportation teams for their incredible work across all campuses and buses to ensure a safe return. 💙

At this time, we plan to reopen on time Wednesday and will share updates if anything changes. We can’t wait to get back to school!

Join us as we set sail with RMS Cruises from Fleischmann Pier 1 in Peekskill on Friday, Sept. 19 2025, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Boarding begins at 5 p.m.

The evening includes beautiful views and Butler passed hors d’oeuvres.
