Here at Saint Mary School, Shrewsbury we have our Middle School students buddy/pair with our younger students. There are so many benefits for both the younger and older students. One example of our Buddy Program is the pairing of our 8th Grade class with our Kindergarten students. The Buddies meet throughout the year for many different activities, building great relationships. This a meaningful pairing as both grade levels are experiencing important transitions in their lives. The Buddy Program offers eighth graders an opportunity to take on a leadership role. For Kindergarteners they are starting school with curiosity and many questions. Our 8th Graders offer them a role model and a glimpse into their future at Saint Mary School.

Last week our Kindergarteners had one last opportunity to spend some time with them before they graduate. It looks like they all had a great time!

Pre-K enjoyed their visit to the Shrewsbury Fire Station! Thank you Firefighter Rory Ahern for taking us on a tour of the station and answering our MANY questions. We ended our field trip with a picnic in the town commons.
