We're excited to partner with the Shrewsbury Library to host Sarah Audsley's reading from her debut poetry collection: Landlock X!

Join us for reading and discussion at the Library on May 19th at 7 PM!

"By examining the consequences of the international transracial adoptee experience—her own—Audsley’s collection finds more questions than solid answers. Employing a variety of poetic forms, co-opting the pastoral tradition to argue for belonging to the rural landscape—despite the inheritance of displacement and removal from a country of origin—Landlock X tries to solve for all of the (adoptee’s) variables and knows it is an impossible task that the “I”, “you”, and “we” of the poems only approximate...."

Some good local butchering education at Hubbard’s on April 8th!

On Saturday April 8th, I will be co-hosting a full nose to tail butcher seminar with my dear friend Spencer Thomas. Spencer owns and operates Thomas Custom Meats at his family farm in Fresno Ohio. He’s been participating in hog and beef harvest on his farm since he could walk and has an abundance of knowledge and tricks of cutting, curing, and cooking these whole animals. The class will include meals and snacks along with meat to take home. We will be doing butchery of the entire animal. You will cut, grind, and pack the animal in a fashion that our ancestors have been doing for generations. Take this amazing meat and knowledge back home to share with your friends and loves one’s.

The seminar will be hosted right here at our farm, it is Saturday 9am-3pm and $250 per person. More food, drinks, and guitar picking will follow the class. Please contact me here or at 802-353-6196 if you’d like to join!
