As we settle into a new school year, the end-of-day transition can be a big one for children. After hours of learning, concentrating, making choices, and navigating their day, they may not be ready to answer a dozen questions at pickup.

Instead, try starting with connection, observing their cues, and giving them space to share when they’re ready. Open-ended questions like “What was something interesting you noticed today?” can invite conversation without putting pressure on them.

What does “Work Week” look like in a Montessori school?

It looks like shelves being emptied, materials being cleaned and polished, and classrooms being reimagined piece by piece.

It’s a full reset, but also a pause. A chance for our team to reflect, refine, and prepare environments that will meet children exactly where they are.
