Fairfield Fencing will be hosting 3 Fencing and Chess camps this summer.

Our Next Middle School Tournament Will Be Saturday, March 18th At 3:00. Come Compete If You Are In 5th - 8th Grade!

Our next in-house foil tournament will be February 25th at 3pm! $20 sign-up fee as usual.

For those attending or potentially enrolling at LSUS, they have a fencing club now! The club is free to join and will meet both on campus and at Fairfield for talks and practice. Contact Connor Bass for details if you or anyone you know at LSUS is interested in joining! Info on flyer.

There is a saber meet Saturday November 5th at 3pm! Entry fee is $20, open to boys and girls. It will be like our usual meets, casual and friendly with awards given to top 3 or 4.

For anyone wanting to attend one of the summer camps at Fairfield, here are the dates; each camp is $150 for the week or $30 per day. Camp meets from 9 am - noon Monday through Friday, but Andy will open at 7 AM for early dropoff. Below are the dates:
Camp #1 June 6-10
Camp #2 June 13-17
Camp #3 July 25-29

Congratulations to Fairfield Fencer Kakarri Kent for winning the Channel 12 Athlete of the Week!! His interview should air on the Channel 12 news tonight at 6:00 so you can tune in and watch. Congratulations, Jakarri!!

Puppies!! They're growing up!!

For any epee fencers that were planning to fence Andy's tournament next Sunday (Feb 7th)-------
The epee tournament has been postponed to a later date due to conflicts with the Super Bowl and the Highland Mardi Gras Parade. A makeup date will be posted when it is set by Andy. Please let any of your epee fencing friends know about this change......

A good time was had by all yesterday at the Foil tournament at Andy's!! We had a great turnout, and he gave away some really nice trophies!!

Foil tournament today at Andy's!! Don't forget--tournament starts at 2:00 pm. Two age groups, 13 & under and 14 & up. Cost is $25, pay at the door. No USFA membership required, but USFA rules will apply. Awards will go to at least the top 3 finishers. Please arrive early for registration so that we can get started on time!

Feeding time at Andy's!! So far the grey speckled female has been spoken for, but there are still 6 pups left that will need a good, loving home when they are old enough. If you have room in your home to give one of these cuties a good home, start thinking about which one you'd like to adopt!

Here are some new pictures of the puppies at Andy's. They're growing, and are as cute as can be. He only has one that is spoken for already, so there are 6 more that will need good homes as soon as they are old enough to leave their mother.

We had a great time at the saber tournament at Andy's yesterday--pictures of the award winners to follow as soon as I can get the downloaded. Don't forget the foil tournament at Andy's next Sunday!!

Attention any of our local fencers planning to fence the Wang tournament in Dallas the first week in April!!!!!
Apparently the Wang tournament is the same weekend as opening weekend for the Texas Rangers and for Wrestlemania 2, so hotels are becoming very hard to come by. If you plan to fence the Wang, I strongly suggest that you get your hotel arrangements made as soon as possible!

Fairfield School of Fencing wants to wish good luck to its fencers who will travel to Austin, Tx. next weekend to compete in the Connor Porter Memorial Tournament on Saturday and Sunday. Good luck to Troy Winslow, Jakarri Kent, Ayla DeFatta, and Amber DeFatta.

Upcoming tournaments at Andy's!!

Andy will be hosting the following tournaments:
Sunday, Jan. 24 -- Saber
Sunday, Jan. 31-- Foil
Sunday, Feb. 7 -- Epee

All tournaments will have two age groups: 13 and under, and 14 and older. They all start at 2:00 PM, so please be there 15-20 minutes early to register. The cost is $25 per event, to be paid at the door. The events are not USFA sanctioned, so no ratings will be given, but USFA rules will apply. Awards given to at least 3rd place in each event.

Gigi and the pups are doing well! Here's an updated pic.....

The puppies are here!! We won't be able to touch them for awhile until they get older, but at least they're here!!

Puppies at Andy's!! Gigi, the latest rescue, will be having 8 puppies sometime between Christmas and New Years. Gigi is a bull terrior mix, and they have no idea what the dad was. Gigi is very sweet, calm, and loving. The puppies won't be ready to be adopted until at least 6 weeks after birth, but if you have room in your home for a new puppy, we might have just the one for you!!
