What does a plant need to grow? Ms.Beckwith’s Science class is going to find out. Today we planted green onions in water bottles. Each group decided what they would put in their bottle with the onion. They were able to choose either water, soil, CO2, or any combination of the three. We will be making observations and measurements for the next two weeks. Stay tuned to see the results.
Are y’all not going to post anything about shutting the school down today, because of COVID???
Virtual learners should be held with the same values as the face to face learners. Parents make your voices heard for our children that are virtual learners for what ever reasons.
It is unfair that Magnolia School of Excellence has decided to pull all virtual learning teachers and mix the virtual learners with the actual students in the class room. I’m asking all parents that read this to voice your concerns to them since our concerns were not heard before they made a decision. They said we had a decision in the beginning now they’ve made the choice to mix the learning process. I got to see a dry run of the process this week and the virtual learners did not get a fair share of time. Please parents go to the caddo parish school board or call your local news media to protest fairly the unfair practices of Magnolia School of Excellence with our virtual learners.
All virtual learners teachers are being pulled and the teachers are having to try to teach virtual and students already in their class rooms. Virtual students are being divided between these teachers. We learned through an email today and these changes take place on Monday. We’re asking for you to leave some teachers virtual to tech virtual students. Voice your concerns virtual parents since they never considered our opinions.
Today parents learned through a email that was sent to the parents of virtual learners that Magnolia School of Excellence planned to pull the virtual learning teachers back into the classroom. The school had already met and basically decided to remove the virtual learning teachers and inform the parents of this change today (Wednesday- 28 of October). This change takes place on Monday. We were told originally in the beginning that we had a choice to either do virtual or the classroom learning. The virtual learning teacher was always the first to be pulled if they were short for anything. They were pulled for the test that was given this year. Instead of hiring substitute teachers to come in. Then a 1st grade teacher was out and the virtual learning teacher was pulled and she had to cover that teacher’s class plus the virtual students. I was able to see a dry run of this process yesterday and it didn’t go over well. Then parents leaned this is what they plan to do as early as Monday. Through the virtual learning I have really seen some make greater progress. It may not be for every student but I saw many shy little boys and girls responding, writing, and actually thriving. I saw first hand how it was with the virtual learners and the kids in the classroom. It was really difficult to try to balance the kids in the classroom and the kids on virtual learning. We were told they don’t have enough money to hire more teachers. They said one thing and now they are going back on what the school board originally said that we could choose on our child learning process. Some children does have issues that would put them at a greater risk to the Corona virus. Therefore I’m sure I’m not alone when I say we need to speak to the school board so that greater concern should be given to our virtual learners. They deserve what they promised us without the school flip flopping and treating virtual students like their not important. This is not the time to make changes like these. This should be your next year plan not after school have taken off. Parents with virtual learners,if you see this, please help me to get our voice heard. There should be so many teachers left for the virtual learning and not everyone of them be placed in the classroom. There is no way equal time can be given. I’m writing this to voice my concerns and not be dismissed and really not even heard. Take your concerns clean to Caddo parish school board if necessary parents. Read this and then repost it until our concerns are heard and honored.
Can anyone with Mrs. Berry's homeroom please help with locating info with school programs?
