It was the summer of 2006 when Tiffany Sandifer first came to BPCC and you could say the rest is history. She had just graduated from Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport and was looking to continue her education.

“I was a first-generation college student who had plans of ‘going off’ to school, but I couldn't afford to do that. I knew that if I really wanted to get an education, I would need to do it locally.”

She still remembers driving to BPCC, walking into Building F and heading straight to the Admissions counter to ask how she could apply.

“Choosing BPCC that day was the best decision I ever made. Everyone was kind, caring, and welcoming - faculty, staff, administrators, you name it! I couldn't have asked for a better school.”

Tiffany got involved in the Office of Student Life in March 2007 when she was crowned Ms. BPCC, which is how she met then Student Life Director, Marjoree Harper. Winning the pageant opened the door for more opportunities – becoming a student recruiter, orientation leader, and a member of the Student Government Association (SGA). Tiffany recalls sitting in Mrs. Harper’s office telling her, "I want to be you when I grow up.”

Today, she’s the new Director of Student Life.

“I truly believe that choosing BPCC was part of God's divine plan for my life. If I had chosen any other school, none of this would have come into fruition.”

As for that first-generation college student? She’s earned an Associate Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, a specialized Master's Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education, and is now working towards her Doctorate of Education with a focus on Leadership Studies.

“Every day I wake up thankful and happy to have the job that I do. I’m honored to have the opportunity to impact lives in such a special and meaningful way, especially at the college that gave so much to me. I am .”
