Who says studying for a Urinalysis exam has to be boring? Our MLS students took review day to the court with a fast-paced basketball challenge designed to get them moving, thinking, and competing 📚🏀

With team names like “Trich Shots” and “P-Squad”, students battled it out by answering UA questions, sinking shots, and showing off their laboratory knowledge. 🧪The result? Active learning, friendly competition, lots of laughter, and exam prep that students won’t forget‼️

Celebrating MLS student, Matt Sayre! Congratulations on being selected Student of the Month at LSU Health Shreveport School of Health Professions and Science!

Please join us in congratulating our SHPS June 2026 Student of the Month, Matthew Sayre, Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) student! 🎉

Matthew was selected based on multiple nominations recognizing his outstanding service, leadership, professionalism, and dedication to the SHPS community.

Throughout the semester, Matthew has volunteered his time and energy to support numerous SHPS events, including graduation, the pre-graduation awards ceremony, and New Student Orientation. Nominators shared that he consistently goes above and beyond by arriving early, staying late, and willingly stepping in wherever help is needed to ensure events run smoothly.

Matthew’s positive attitude, servant leadership spirit, and commitment to supporting his fellow classmates have made a meaningful impact on the SHPS community. As an Army Veteran, he brings dedication, discipline, leadership, and a strong work ethic to everything he does, while also continuing to give back through volunteer efforts supporting the veteran community.
