The C.E. Byrd Centennial is literally a once-in-a-lifetime celebration! Organizers have worked hard to fill these specially designated days with events to entertain and unite students from across the decades, and to honor the 100 year legacy of The City of Byrd. Please do try to attend as many of the events as possible, take this opportunity to see or reunite with friends, fellow students and former staff members, relive memories of your years at Byrd and make some new memories along the way. What an amazing weekend! Friday getting started. Saturday morning, began with drums at Byrd. Saturday evening fun. So great reconnecting with friends! Here are just a few pictures.

The 1973 Reunion starts this evening! Can't wait to see you all!

Class of 1973! The party is going to be great!
The event will be at Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club. 578 Spring Lake Drive Shreveport 71104
We will begin at 7:00pm and end at 10:00pm.
Reminder: This is also a casual event.

Enter through the main doors, take the elevator (to your right) or stairs (straight ahead) to the 2nd floor party! Check in at the table, get your name tag and start enjoying the party. Thank you, Kip King Rowland, for the name tags to help us know who we are!

The food table will be to your right and bar to your left. This is a cash bar. There will be a non-alcoholic drink station separate from the bar. That is also where dessert will be.

We will have use of the patio out back with heaters if needed.

We will have several places for you to take fun pictures with your high school friends!

The soundtrack of our 1973 music is provided by our own David Taylor! Enjoy, sing along and if you are moved to dance, by all means, do!

It's Saturday, April 1, and you need to be at C.E. Byrd! Plan to arrive by 9:45 to get a small coffee and Southern Maid Donut! We need to start the festivities at 10:00, so please be in your auditorium seat.

We ask that you park in the south student parking lot, where we always parked. If you have issues with steps, you may be dropped off to come in the front, Line Avenue doors; or you may look for the ELEVATOR sign in the breezeway between the school and the gym. Enter there and the elevator will take you to the hall behind the auditorium. Come around to the front hall to make your nametag and get a donut. There is no charge to take the elevator! 🤣

At 10:00, our class president, Brian Homza, will have an entertaining agenda. Byrd's principal, Jerry Badgley, will give an update on the City of Byrd and will host a tour for those who would like to see the great things happening at Byrd.

If you have any vintage '73 things you would like to share (High Lifes, Go West hats, Senior Party favors, etc.), bring them and share on the display table that will be near the stage in the auditorium. Be sure to label with your name and remember to take your treasures with you so you can share at future reunions.

We will be finished by noon, giving you time for lunch with your buds or to drive around Shreveport to remember the old and see the new businesses and areas in Shreveport.

ONE WEEK UNTIL THE FUN BEGINS!

Let's get the party started on Friday evening, March 31! We'll start with a meet and greet at Great Raft Brewing. This is a great new brewery that happens to be owned by C.E. Byrd grad, Lindsay Johnson Nations! We are gathering from 5:30- 7:30. This will give time to start the reconnections!
When you enter the front, you will go up to the desk counter. The staff will need to check your ID for you to enter. YES! You will be carded!! Let them know you are with BYRD and they will direct you to the party room to the left. We will have name tags for you to complete. Ladies, please make sure to include your maiden name on your name tag.
Because this is a small private brewery, they currently only serve their own beer, but they have a wide variety of options. The beer staff can help you decide on your flavor. For those who prefer something else, they do have some soft drinks and water. They also have some appetizers and small bites. Beer, food and soft drinks will need to be purchased at the bar. Now more of the logistics. The address is 1251 Dalzell Street, Shreveport, 71104. There is parking out front. If that lot is full, the brewers ask that we respect their neighbors and that we DO NOT PARK ACROSS THE STREET! Go out of the lot and turn left on Dalzell. Then turn left on Samford Street and go to the lot where the brewery's docks are. For everyone's comfort and safety, we will have private security outside.
We look forward to seeing you all! Come, start the re-connects. Since we will be ending at 7:30, you will still have time to have dinner at a fun restaurant with your closest friends.

The program at Byrd on Saturday, April 1, will begin at 10:00 AM. Come a little early for coffee and Southern Maid Donuts and to get your seat in the auditorium. Details about Saturday morning and Saturday evening are coming soon.
