Caddo Magnet High will host a School Supplies Drive for Thibodaux High School beginning now and ending Thursday, October 21.

Background: Thibodaux High School is in the Northern part of Lafourche Parish and has sustained wind and rain damage from Hurricane Ida but is happy to report reopening to students. Many of the students have lost everything they own since the winds removed the roof, and the rain caused mold in their homes. Many of the students still have no power and/or sleeping in tents/campsites. Most internet providers have not returned to the parish (no TV, no cable, no internet). Students need basic school supplies to start the new year. Any extra supplies will be shared with the parish.

School supplies needed include pens, pencils, notebook paper, 1, 3, and 5 subject notebooks, backpacks, and anything else you think would be helpful! Many of these students are starting from scratch and need all the supplies they can get.

To encourage donations, the class (freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors) that brings in the most school supplies will receive a reward! Bring supplies to the PAC between now and October 21.

Repost from @magnetgreens

Yesterday Black Studies Association volunteers took some very special guests on a tour of our pollinator-friendly gardens and Monarch Waystation beds. Margaret Taylor ‘67, Donald Johnson ‘70, and Linda Young Phillips ‘67, are all graduates of Valencia High School and haven’t been back on their old stomping grounds since they graduated. Mr. Johnson is visiting from San Diego and was a member of the first junior high class in 1964 and the last high school graduating class of 1970! Mustangs love meeting Valencia Vikings! #caddomagnet #cmhsbsa #magnetgreens @wgtcoalition @caddomagnet @cmhsbsa @magnetgreens
