Happy Teacher Feature to Mrs. Suzanne Neely - our K4 Homeroom teacher! Mrs. Neely has been a member of the SJS family for nine years. Mrs. Neely is a LSU-S graduate and a lifelong Shreveport resident. She has a knack for plants and loves spending time outdoors in her yard. Thank you for your hard work, Mrs. Neely!

As we draw closer to the resurrection of our Lord, our eighth grade class reenacted the stations of the cross in a beautiful and moving performance on Holy Thursday. A special thank you to all that helped make this possible, especially Mrs. Maciulski.
Recalling the passion of Christ is part of the journey through Holy Week. This week, our 8th- grade students portrayed Christ’s journey to Calvary in their Living Stations on Holy Thursday.
Our Mini Vinnies accompanied the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Bishop Malone, and others by participating in the Way of the Cross in downtown Shreveport.
We're so excited to share about our K5 aide, Mrs. Blaire Colligan! She has been a part of our SJS family for six years as a parent, and for the past three years she's been a teachers aide. She loves how supportive and strong our school community is, from the administration to the teachers, to the families we serve! Her biggest wish for her students is that they thrive and feel safe, loved, and happy here. We are so grateful for you, Mrs. Colligan!

Let's talk about Mrs. Ashley Altimus, our K5 homeroom teacher! Mrs. Altimus is brand new to St. Joseph Catholic School and she loves how much our school is a family. She and her husband have three children, and when Mrs. Altimus is not at work she loves to watch movies with her family. We are so glad Mrs. Altimus is part of our K-Village team!
Tonight, Ellie Franks was recognized as one of the 7 finalists for 8th grade student of the year for the state of Louisiana. While this year’s journey has concluded, our joy and support continues. Thank you, Ellie, for being the faithful and amazing example of what a St. Joseph student can accomplish. We hope to see your name on the state level once again in 4 years!
Happy Teacher Feature to Ms. Julianne Raney! Ms. Raney has been teaching at St. Joseph Catholic School for two years now. She loves teaching our second grade students because it's a year of preparation for the sacrament of First Holy Communion. Ms. Raney loves spending time with her class in church and hopes they continue to grow in their faith and never lose their joy in learning. Thank you for all you do for our students Ms. Raney!
Congrats to Ellie Franks who will be competing for Middle School Student of the Year for the State of Louisiana on Wednesday! Today, she served as Mayor of Shreveport! Thank you to Mayor Perkins for recognizing her accomplishments. We are very proud of her. Let’s be sure to keep Ellie in our prayers.
Today we're featuring Janie Johnson, one of our fabulous 1st Grade Homeroom teachers! Mrs. Johnson's favorite place on our campus is the church. She loves when our whole school family comes together to worship during school Mass. Thank you for your hard work, Mrs. Johnson!

We are very proud of our students who participated in today’s Relgion Scholars Bowl. Students answered trivia questions, took written exams, and put on skits for others. Thank you, students, for representing our school so well today! Also, thank you to our brothers and sisters at St John Berchmans for hosting today’s events!
Today is all about Mrs. Karen Evans, one of our 1st Grade Homeroom teachers. Mrs. Evans has a master degree from Centenary College and a bachelor degree from LSU-S in Elementary Education. She loves to share her love for Jesus with her students and hopes they grow to love and serve Jesus. We are so grateful for Mrs. Evans!

We only ordered a few extra yearbooks for this year. If you still need to order I will be sending home order forms to the students that haven't ordered this year. If you would like to purchase a yearbook then please send form and payment to school with your child. We will continue to sell the extra yearbooks until they sell out.
The portal to purchase online has been closed. So get your order form and payment in asap!!
We will distribute the yearbooks on May 12th and the students will have a yearbook signing party on that day. Get yours before they sell out!!

Mrs. Julie Kaiser is our teacher feature today! Mrs. Kaiser has a masters degree in Elementary Education from Centenary and teaches 2nd grade ELA and Social Studies. Her favorite book is "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" by John Boyne and it's no surprise that in her free time she likes to read or go to Barnes and Noble. Loyola College Prep is hosting a Future Flyer Informational Night at the Diocese of Shreveport Catholic Center on Monday, April 4th at 5:30.
Geared towards the middle school family, Future Flyer Informational Night will showcase the many opportunities of a Catholic education at Loyola College Prep.
The format will feature topics covering tuition assistance, faith in action, accommodations, academics, athletics opportunities, as well as parent and student testimonies.
We're featuring Mrs. Malorie Andries, our 3rd grade ELA and Social Studies teacher! Mrs. Andries is a new addition to the SJS family this school year. She loves being at St. Joseph Catholic School because it's a place where Christ is the center of everything we do! She loves seeing her students grow academically and spiritually every day. We are so happy Mrs. Andries joined our SJS family!
St. Joseph Catholic School 4th grade math and science teacher, Mrs. Katie Walker, has been part of our SJS family for a total of 12 years! She loves to take her students to school Mass, and always want them to follow their hearts and do what they love. We love Mrs. Walker's dedication and support for her students!

Always known as Mrs. Suzanne Harbert, sometimes known as the eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka, Mrs. Harbert is an expert at bringing learning to life for our 4th grade students! Her personal favorite book is East of Eden by John Steinbeck. In true English teacher fashion she loves to read in her free time.
