Thanks to a new MOU between LSU Health Shreveport and LSU Shreveport, medical students now have the opportunity to earn an additional graduate degree while completing their MD.
Through the new agreement, LSUHS medical students can pursue one of three LSUS master’s degrees:
Master of Business Administration (MBA) 📈
Master of Health Administration (MHA) 🏥
Master of Public Health (MPH) 🌎
The partnership is another example of what’s possible when two LSU institutions combine their strengths to create new opportunities for students and the future of healthcare in Louisiana.

LSU Shreveport’s first Program for Undergraduate Research and Creative Experiences (PURE) gave 15 students the opportunity to spend their summer conducting original research alongside faculty mentors across disciplines ranging from chemistry and biology to history, computer science and medicine.
For chemistry student Michael Miller (pictured), the experience was “a window into what you can expect when you graduate.”
PURE will return in summers to come, creating even more opportunities for LSUS students to see themselves as scholars, researchers and problem-solvers.

We recently announced a new graduation tradition that honors our veterans and service members who cross the LSUS graduation stage. Starting with our Summer Class of 2026, the LSU Shreveport Veterans Resource Center will host a Military Coining Ceremony the day before each commencement ceremony where our service-connected students and their families are invited to campus to celebrate their achievement. 🇺🇸🎓

We welcomed our newest residents during our inaugural Move-In Day last Friday, and we had a great time helping everyone settle in and make LSUS their new home. 🏠
