Thank you so much Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation for coming to American Child and offering an eye screening test for our students.

We have firsthand seen the miraculous, and life changing results from this screening.

One year, we had the opportunity to have a 3 year old in our program who always seemed to have her face scrunched up into a scowl. Although she was loving and sweet, she could be very difficult at times and bad tempered. One of our teachers began to suspect that the child could not see well. She mentioned this to the parents; however, the parents continued to postpone taking the child to have her eyes tested.

When the Lions came for the annual screening, it was discovered that the child had cataracts that had given the girl extremely impaired vision.

Once the parents took her to have the cataracts removed, the child came back with no more scowl on her face and a new, happy disposition.

What a difference the Lions made in that child’s life! Thank you!

Thank you to our teachers and staff for helping the children make something cute to wear to our feast and for the love they show each child every day.
And thank you to our parents for sharing your children with us. We feel so grateful that we get to be a part of their childhood and see them grow.

The Child Development Associate Credential is a national credential awarded to those who work with children and meet the highest professional standards in childcare. Robin took 120 extra hours of classes, was observed in the classroom and had to take the national test to achieve this certification. Good job Ms. Robin Maxwell!

American Child in Greenwood needs two quality people to join our family. We are looking to fill 1 part time and 1 full time position.

Part time position would be afternoon van driver to pick up school kids and be with them after school. This position would offer full time hours in the summer and in school holidays.

Full time position would be a preschool floater during the day and picking up school kids after school and being with them in the afternoon.

Both positions must be 25 or older for insurance and willing and able to drive a van.
