I am Alstead St. Patrick Anderson, Founder and CEO of Cherish-In-Life Corporation, a non-profit organization that is designed to be a six month in-patient/ out-patient rehabilitation and feeding center. It is our desire, through God’s divine plan, that the Cherish-In-Life Corporation be forwarded the opportunity to provide this safe haven for the homeless members of Bossier City and Shreveport, Louisiana to come during their time of need. This will not only expand the opportunity for salvation in Jesus Christ, but will also manifest a space where the lost and destitute can gather to break bread with those who walk with God; therefore, the provisions are to create the atmosphere for those persons to experience Christ’s ministry through love, kindness and fellowship while simultaneously preparing them to function in society to their optimum potential.

As we currently know, Shreveport and Bossier City combined have a population of around 375,910. Statistics show that approximately 22% of the population lives below poverty (Census Bureau, 1999). It is shocking to know that this is higher than the state average of 17%. Of course, there are several organizations dedicated to helping those who are homeless, ensuring they are fed daily; however, many of these organizations are provided resources through government funding which prevents the ministering to or evangelizing of the homeless due to state and federal mandates. We would like, through the establishment of Cherish-In-Life Corporation, that an independent facility may be utilized and wherever the location of the facility, lives are guaranteed to be touched and changed for the better.

The Intent of Cherish-In-Life is to:
a) Promote discipline, job acquisition, housing, rehabilitation and education through means of prayer and one on one mentoring
b) Enhance the quality of people’s lives by reintegration into society through increase of individual empowerment in direction of achieving independence and personal success.
c) Strengthen the local communities, churches, businesses and families.
d) Engage through fundraising, benefit concerts, with local and international Christian artists. Local support, petitioning fellow churches, approved businesses and other financial support.
