With a firm background in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and clinical medicine, the graduate is prepared to exercise judgment and accept responsibility in performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in care of the cardiopulmonary patient. In addition, the baccalaureate CPS graduate is a potential supervisor, educator, or specialty liaison within the respiratory care and cardiovascular technology arena. Graduates are eligible to earn professional credentials in respiratory care and cardiovascular technology as well as licensure to practice respiratory care in Louisiana and other States across the US.
