[06/04/20]   FBCS Parents -

Thank you for your help and support in returning books, materials, and other supplies. If you have not done so we are open Tuesday - Thursday from 9 - 12.

We have been following and staying abreast of school opening procedures from the CDC and other health professionals who are parents in our school. Our plans are to begin school on our campus August 10th. Please know that we have a committee of school parents, teachers, and pediatricians advising us regarding health and sanitary standards to implement.

As you know, this is a fluid situation and we will keep you informed this summer as events unfold.

FBCS Alumni - graduating class of 2020 - participated in a car parade today! Since we couldn't hold our traditional "Senior Reception" for them this year, we invited our former students to drive through our campus, receive a yard sign, and enjoy congratulatory waves from all their former FBCS teachers. Best wishes to the class of 2020!

FBCS would like to honor our five 8th grade class of 2020 Valedictorians. Congratulations! #welovefbcs

Troops 2020 End of the Year Video

5th Grade Troops were a fun part of the school year! We had so many engaging and exciting activities like the D1 Kickoff, Picnics with Mrs. Harner, the Thanksgiving Feast, and the Gingerbread House Decorating Party. It was so fun to watch our 5th graders blossom into confident students ready to rock middle school! In addition, they developed many new friendships throughout the year. Enjoy this video dedicated to our first crew of FBCS 5th Grade Troops! (We do not own the rights to the music used in this video.)

What a wonderful evening we had celebrating our 8th graders with a drive-in movie on campus! The movie was a tribute to the 8th graders and was filled with memorable pictures and videos from all their years at FBCS. The video ended by revealing where each student will go to high school. We are so proud of these outstanding students! #welovefbcs

Thank you to the Shreveport Police Department for approving this event and providing security.

FBCS Student Council and National Junior Honor Society sponsored a Greens and Jeans canned food drive. They collected canned goods for the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank! Student Council sponsor Rene' Loyd and NJHS sponsor Robin Allen delivered 622 pounds of canned goods to the food bank! Way to go Patriots!! #welovefbcs

Expect an email Monday with more detailed academic plans.

Please cancel your Boonli lunch orders. We cannot do this for you. Your money will remain in your Boonli account for future orders.

Our preschool has been having fun in STREAM. They celebrated Dr. Seuss week by building The Cat in the Hat with red cups! They have studied magnets and learned about day and night and how the earth rotates. We have FUN while we LEARN at FBCS!! #welovefbcs

We had an awesome speaker this morning at FBCS. Johnathan Lee Iverson, the Ringmaster, came and spoke to our 1st-8th graders. He was 22 years old when he became the first African American Ringmaster for RIngling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. His many accolades include being selected as one of Barbara Walters' 10 Most Fascinating People, but he is most proud of being a question on Jeopardy twice.

Congratulations to our 6th grade boys. They won the Private Middle School basketball championships! Way to go!!⛹️‍♂️🏀🏆

FBCS welcomed 100 year old author and illustrator, Grace M. Kinnebrew to our school. "Gigi" came and read her book, Adventures of 3, to our 3rd grade classes. Adventures of 3 is a story about a bear, a bird, and a bug. One of them finds a mysterious object (a leaf) and together they learn about God's gifts. Thank you for spending time with our students.

At 2 pm the Krewe of Highland rolls and your Patriots are on Krewe of Centaur’s iconic “Suns of Anarchy” float!

Cheer loud and proud for these patriots! We have lots of unique and fun throws.

This cloudy day won’t overcast the Son in our hearts!

Come see us at the Book Fair this week! Our teachers have wish lists. The Book Fair is set up in the Activity Center Fitness Room. It is open Tuesday-Thursday from 7:30-3:30 and Friday from 7:30-11:30. Come buy some books and support the library!

To celebrate 100 days in Mrs. Miller's Kindergarten class, the kids made crowns with 100 rhinestones and a snack with 100 pieces, exercised 100 times, put together a 100 chart, and compared bottles with 100 objects. We have fun in Kindergarten! #welovefbcs

Mrs. Flint's class celebrated "100 Days" in Kindergarten by taking a tour of Sugarwalk Popcorn. They have been counting to 100 - popped popcorn and popcorn kernels. What better way to celebrate than to take a field trip and see how Sugarwalk makes all that popcorn.
