Lion King Jr. tickets may be purchased in the school office between 8-3 or at the Emmett Hook Theater box office 30 minutes prior to each performance. You don't want to miss it!
Our 8th graders are off on the annual south Louisiana trip! Their first stop was the State Capitol in Baton Rouge where they were met by State Representative, Thomas Pressly. Mr. Pressly is a true Patriot as he is a FBCS alum and now parent. He shared with our students how his involvement with Student Council at FBCS sparked his interest in politics. Thank you, Mr. Pressly, for your time and for sharing your passion for our state and community with our students!
Due to internet issues from the recent storms, we are sad to share we will not be able to live stream the FBCS Family Easter Chapel.

Jesus said... โ€œI am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?โ€ John 11:25-26
Our middle school students recently had the opportunity to take a trip to Washington D.C. The students and several parents spent 4 full days touring the city. Students visited the White House, Mount Vernon, presidential monuments, and memorials. Our students saw the very flag Francis Scott Key watched as he penned our National Anthem. They also viewed the original U.S. Constitution, learned to locate fallen soldiers on the Vietnam Wall, observed the Changing of the Guards at Arlington Cemetery and so much more. Thank you, Coach Speir, for bringing history to life for our students!
Congrats to the FBCS Golf Team for placing 1st in the City Championship at Olde Oaks on Tuesday. Brooks Reid finished 2nd in the individual competition!!!!
Last week, students in K3 - 5th Grade planted in the FBCS Garden. A variety of flowers, herbs, and vegetables were planted. The students will tend to the garden throughout the spring!!
Thank you Foster Orthodontics for treating our teachers to a wonderful breakfast!
The March Madness Pep Rally is a favorite FBCS tradition! The 8th graders vs. parents/alumni basketball game is always exciting. Thank you Kari Turner for capturing these wonderful pictures.
Thank you, Loyola College Prep, for having the FBCS Patriot TV crew on your campus this week. We loved seeing your media arts studio and learning from your students!

We educate children from a setting that encourages intellectual, moral and spiritual growth. Thank you for visiting our page.

Please join me and the Louisiana House of Representatives in congratulating First Baptist Church Schoolโ€™s Dr. Gillespie on his retirement. Dr. Gillespie has served our community as an educator for 52 years, serving the last 17 years as principal of First Baptist Church School. I appreciate my wife and son filling in for me while I am in Baton Rouge for session. This morning they presented Dr. Gillespie with a copy of the House Resolution which will be recorded and kept in the official state records.

Thank you Dr. Gillespie for your dedication to the next generation of leaders. Best wishes and congratulations on your retirement!

The LORD is my shepherd, He gives me everything I need.
He lets me lie down in the fields of green grass.
He leads me beside quiet waters.
He gives me new strength.
He guides me in the right paths
for the honor of His name.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley.
I will not be afraid.
You, God, are with me.
Your shepherd's rod and staff comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me right in front of my enemies,
You pour oil on my head, My cup runs over.
I am sure that your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life.
And I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
Psalm 23
