Classmates, just wanted to let you know that Saturday April 24th, our wonderful Spanish teacher, Ms. Judy Horne's husband Bob passed away. As she stated on her page Monday, "my precious Bob passed away Saturday evening. He has had a pretty rough time the last few months, and the last few days things worsened. Saturday morning when we woke up, I think we both new that was going to be the day. I called his doctor who arranged for hospice to come to the house. The nurse was an angel & good care of him for the few hours he remained and he was able to pass quietly, just minutes after the chaplain left. She also made all the necessary calls to the funeral home, etc. Bob wished to be cremated and wasn’t too keen on having a service. Cherry is here and we will decide whether or not to have some sort of gathering later on in the year, & of course we’ll let you know if that’s going to happen.
In the meantime, say a little prayer for us, and give a jingle if you want to sometime after a day or two. After the way things worked out Saturday I am convinced that God does indeed have a plan & I know Bob is in a better place, whole & happy, and viewing sunrises from the other side." Judy and Bob had been married over 50 years and they were true soulmates. Bob was also a Science teacher at Captain Shreve. Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers and may God's grace be upon them. If you are friends with her on FB, you've probably seen this post, and if not, you can PM her if you wish ... All the best. Allison Wheeler Kelley

Great sponsorship opportunity for Shreve alumni business owners! July 14-15, huge family event at LSUS, 2nd Annual Red River Balloon Rally. Capt Shreve will be the ONLY official off-site parking. Shuttles will run back and forth to LSUS.
We are looking for businesses to SPONSOR the parking lot. You can have your signage, tents, booths, pass out coupons, brochures, etc to all balloon patrons for 2 days. Great way to get exposure for your business and to tie in with NBC6 and this event.
Message me or email me at
[email protected] if interested! Please share with others! (don't have to be Shreve alumni to be a sponsor)
I know my post may seem odd and it may not be appropriate for your page but Im reaching out to anyone who might can help..please delete and I apologize if this is not okay..
I dont have a poster to hold up and maybe I should..but heres my hope..heres my long life dream..to find my biological mother..I have for as far back as I can remember tried to find her. Not because my childhood was horrible..my mom gave me an amazing childhood..but because there is a void..a blank spot..maybe I will always have it..but if I dont try..my answer will always be the same..
Heres all the information I have and know:
I was born October 4, 1971 at 11:58am
My birth certificate does not state what hospital but from all my research it was possibly Shumpert in Shreverport,La. I was adopted thru Volunteers of America in Shreveport, La
I was told my birth name was Margaret Amy...mother had blonde hair and blue eyes..18 years old..i was told my birth father had the same..
My adoption per the state of Louisiana is sealed.
I have tried almost every method possible to find her. No luck. I have found no loopholes..
I dont want to disrupt anyones life or secrets..I just desperately need closure or a few moments with her.
The most information i have received on my birth family is contained in the two letters below.
Maybe this miracle of fb sharing will reach her and she will just be happy to know im happy..or maybe she will see im looking for her..who knows..but If I dont try..I gain nothing..
All I ask is share this like crazy..and lets see what happens..ive been blessed everyday with the friends and family I have, so anything is possible..
God Bless and thanks..

Memory of Ms. McCalla...I had her in Advanced Math, 1972-73. You dare not complete the daily homework. Her style of teaching was very organized and clear. Some feared her but we all knew that she cared deeply that we learned! She was a model educator whose leadership took Shreve to an even higher level of achievement. Thank you for shaping me as an educator.
