🌟 Historic Milestone Alert! 🌟

Woodlawn Knights, let's congratulate and celebrate these nineteen extraordinary students for achieving something truly remarkable—earning Associate Degrees from Southern University at Shreveport on May 12, 2025 at 6:00pm before even graduating high school! 🎓👏

The Spring 2025 class has set a new record, becoming the largest group of Associate Degree graduates in Caddo Parish Schools this year! With at least 50% of the graduating class completing at least one dual enrollment course, these Knights have demonstrated exceptional dedication and drive.

Thanks to our strong partnership with Southern University at Shreveport, these students have had the unique opportunity to take college classes on the SUSLA campus Monday–Thursday, working alongside actual college professors. This experience has provided them with invaluable insight into college life, preparing them for future success.

Behind every degree is a story of hard work, determination, and resilience. These students have balanced college coursework, high school studies, jobs, extracurricular activities, sports, and leadership roles—all while maintaining academic honors. Their achievements allow them to transfer credits to universities of their choice, paving the way for a bright future!

💙 Special thanks to our Dual Enrollment Coordinator, Shondreka Fitch, whose unwavering dedication, academic counseling, and mentorship have been instrumental in the success of this program.

📚 Woodlawn Early College students also extend their gratitude to Mrs. Contessa Taylor for always providing study time and a welcoming space to learn in the library.

🏆 And none of this would be possible without the visionary leadership of Dr. Grady Smith, Principal, who champions an academics-first approach, fostering a supportive environment where students thrive academically, athletically, and personally.

AFTER an already phenomenal season & just simply celebrating making it to the state meet, these ladies showed up and SHOWED OUT at the state meet today!!

Shelunda Brooks- ‘23 & ‘24 State champ came today and threw a BIG 2 feet PR OF 38’8, breaking her own school record!!! Securing 🥈place
