1. What is your name?
Sharokeen Youkhana

2. Where are you from?
Iraqi-Canadian

3. Where did you go to Medical School?
Hawler Medical University in Erbil, Iraq

4. Why did you pick LSU Shreveport?
The great training, supportive people, and variety of cases made it feel like the right place for me. Looking back, I believe God chose it for me.

5.Fun fact about yourself
I speak five languages (my vocabulary is definitely bigger than my sleep schedule😃): English, Arabic, Assyrian, Kurdish, and Turkish.

6. Why Family Medicine?
The breadth of Family Medicine keeps me curious and the long-term relationships keep me connected to my patients.

7. What do you want to do after residency
I’m leaning toward outpatient practice, but I’m still exploring my options.

Dr. KC presented “Heart Failure: Clinical Overview,” providing a comprehensive review of the evaluation and management of heart failure, along with practical considerations for primary care.

We appreciate Dr. KC taking the time to share his knowledge with our residents, faculty, and staff. Great job! 👏

Selected among the nation's top-performing residents, Dr. Adebeshin will receive a $2,500 scholarship from the American Academy of Family Physicians, complimentary registration to the 2026 AAFP Family Medicine Experience, round-trip economy airfare, and three nights of hotel accommodations. Yesterday, we had the honor of celebrating the graduation of our three Family Medicine Rural residents. It has been a privilege to know each of them not only as outstanding physicians but also as incredible individuals.

Watching them grow throughout residency has been truly rewarding, and they have each made a lasting impact on our program, our patients, and the North Caddo Medical Center family. While we will certainly miss them, we couldn't be more proud of all they have accomplished.

Congratulations on this incredible milestone! Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and the compassion you've shown every day. We wish you nothing but success and happiness as you begin the next chapter of your careers. We know your futures are incredibly bright, and we can't wait to see all that you accomplish.
