Sheriff Steve Prator announced that applications are being accepted for this summer’s Caddo Sheriff's Camp.
The free overnight camp for boys ages 8-12 will be held at Kinsey Scout Reservation June 13-15. It is conducted by the Sheriff’s Office and the Boy Scouts of America, Norwela Council.
The camp introduces scouting to Caddo Parish boys who may not otherwise have an opportunity to attend summer camp. Campers participate in outdoor activities such as swimming, archery, and marksmanship, and also work on developing leadership skills.
Transportation to and from camp is provided, and funding is made possible through citizen donations. Applications can be obtained from the Boy Scout office by calling 868-2774.

Tomorrow is Election Day as the Caddo Parish School Board asks voters to decide whether to continue three existing millages used to provide for vital operations of schools.
Funding from these millages provides for critical functions of the district including:
· Salaries and benefits for teachers and support staff
· Maintenance and upkeep of school buildings
· Classroom technology
· Curriculum and classroom resources
· Maintenance and fuel for the district's bus fleet
· ADA compliance projects including restrooms, elevators, etc.
· Upgrades of and repairs to heating and air condition of schools and sites
All three propositions have been on the rolls for over 20 years and are already being paid by the citizens of Caddo Parish. Thus, these are not new taxes but a continuation of current rates.
Polls will open at 7 a.m. and remain open until 8 p.m. To learn more about where you vote, visit the Secretary of State's Voter Portal.
Voter Portal This secure web application can be used to find voter registration and elections information. A search by address option is also available if desired. Searching by address provides information about all voters at an address.
