Using the 2021 ACS data, the Center for Economic and Business Research at LSUS studied rental housing affordability and availability in Louisiana.

We estimate the Shreveport-Bossier area has only 81 affordable rental units per 100 Extremely Low Income renter households and only 80 rental units for Extremely Low Income and Very Low Income renter households.
