The Center has just released it's Rental Housing Affordability in Louisiana 2024 report. Like much of the state, the Shreveport-Bossier City area has an affordability issue. Over 70% of our extremely low, very low, and low income renters are cost burdened. Overall 51% of all renters in the Shreveport-Bossier Area are cost burdened.

The labor force participation rate for Louisiana is 59.3%. This map illustrates rates across Louisiana parishes. Claiborne Parish has the lowest at 36.5%, and Ascension Parish has the highest at 68.2%.
