Lately, life has been a heavy reminder that we were never created to walk this journey alone-whether you’re building a business, raising a family, or navigating a hard season.

From my weekly prayer partner who gives me renewed strength every Tuesday, to my forever friend Aseanti whose creative spirit and belief in Joyous Learning lives on in everything I do... community is everything 🫂

And our kids need that exact same support.

When students feel isolated or disconnected, their confidence and learning suffer. But when we wrap support around them-combining the student, the family, and the village-unlimited growth happens 💡

The Joyous Journal | Volume 1: Entry 001 🧡

Welcome to the very first edition of The Joyous Journal!

As I reflected on how Joyous Learning began, I realized something: before there was a business, there was fear.

Fear of failing.
Fear of not being ready.
Fear of getting started.

And if I’m being honest, I believe we’ve all been there before.

So for Entry 001, I wanted to share a simple reminder:
✨ You don’t need a perfect plan.
✨ You don’t need perfect timing.
✨ You don’t need all the answers.

You simply need to start.

One step of faith can lead to more than you ever imagined.

At Joyous Learning, our mission is rooted in John 15:11:
“I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.” 🧡

My prayer is that this journal encourages you to move forward with faith, embrace the journey, and trust that growth often begins with a single step.

Nothing but net and new knowledge! 🏀💖

Yesterday, Joyous Learning had an absolute blast at the 3rd Annual LaMonica Plater Basketball Camp! We had the best time playing our favorite games and helping everyone sharpen their skills. When education and athletics team up for our youth, everybody wins! 🥇✨

Thank you so much to LP for having us! We are already counting down to the next tip-off! ⏱️🎉

The data doesn’t lie, but the confidence speaks even louder. 📈 At both the beginning and middle of the year, Damon was scoring well below grade level. But on his most recent DIBELS test, he didn’t just meet the goal—he soared past it!

Damon is now scoring above grade level across all contents! Seeing a student not only master these skills but also find the courage to volunteer and lead in the classroom is the ultimate win.

Good morning, Glow Getters! 🫶🏾

We are starting the week anchored in one of my personal favorite verses. Isaiah 40:31 is a scripture that often gives me renewed focus when the school year gets busy, and I know it can do the same for our Joyous Learning families.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” — Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

It’s a new week and a fresh start. If your student is hitting a roadblock with Math, ELA, or homework, let’s trust that they have the endurance to soar!
