All students, friends and siblings ages 5 years old and up are welcome to join us in kicking off the new school year with a Back-to-School night out for our parents. Saturday September 12th from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. The kids will come to MKMA for an evening of fun, games, activities and pizza. The cost is $25 per child. Please sign up by the door.

Some of our students went to the 2026 Chicago Taekwondo Expo today. It looks like all of their hard work paid off! Great job and congratulations to all the students that participated! We are so proud of you!! There were many first and second place medals earned. Everyone did a great job!🥋👍🥋

Mun's Korean Martial Arts is a locally owned and operated martial arts school that teaches Tae Kwon Do, Hap Ki Do, and sparring - for kids ages 4 and up, to adults. Great for fitness, focus and concentration.

Belt Testing for all color belts through Deputy II, and all Black Belt tip testing, will be Wednesday August 26th and Thursday August 27th. Please turn in the forms and test payment before Tuesday, August 25th. The testing schedules are below. If your child cannot test on those dates, please see Master Mun to arrange for your student to test in class the days prior to belt testing.

There WILL NOT be any classes on those days.

Please note that we will be charging the $5 late fee for testing payments not made on or before Tuesday, August 25th. We will also be applying the $3 fee for transactions using a credit or debit card. This is because of the high number of payments during testing, which adds to our fees. We also accept cash and checks.

To be eligible to test, color belts should have all four belt stripes by the end of their last class next week. Red tip - kicking combination(s); yellow tip - sparring combination(s); green tip - form (no white belt form for children, but they will have a green tip for 6 hand technique); and black tip - breaking technique. If you are concerned or have questions, do not hesitate to speak with Master Mun before testing.

Everyone below Black Belt should have the testing forms in their journal. You MUST fill out and turn in the form labeled EXAM FORM; the others are optional. We can make copies of forms in the office but please stop in prior to testing days to request them.

"Wow, what a day! We had an amazing time at the Shorewood Crossroads Fest parade! We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who walked with us, especially our awesome Masters, Instructors, and parents. Your support means the world to us! We're so proud to represent our Taekwondo school in the community. Thanks for braving the heat with us - you're all rockstars!!!

Reminder, the parade is tomorrow!

All students and parents are welcome to join us in walking in the Shorewood Crossroads Festival Parade, TOMORROW, Sunday August 2nd. The students will wear their MKMA t-shirt, uniform pants, belt and gym shoes. The parade theme this year is "Party Like it is 1776", so any red, white and blue hair accessories, headbands, sunglasses, face paint, hair paint, etc. along with their uniforms is encouraged. They will be breaking boards on the parade route. We will meet at the Taekwondo school at 11am and walk together to our parade line up spot. Out line up spot is number 33, if you would rather meet us there. There is parking at 400 Earl Rd, and the roads close at 11am. Please join the fun and support our school
