Cheers to Professor Kristin Trenholm on her retirement from !

Kristin has been a huge asset to our department and we were so happy to celebrate with her last week. (She received so many flowers (see above!) and well-wishes!) She’s made a deep impact on our students, nominated several times for teaching awards for her comparative politics and international relations courses. She won Advisor of the Year from for her mentorship of our award-winning chapter, , which won the National Best Chapter Award three times under her leadership.

It’s safe to say Kristin has made a mark in her nearly 20 years with us — it’s also safe to expect she’ll be back on campus taking those Classics courses she loves so much in no time! We’re glad it’s not a total goodbye, but we will miss you, Kristin!

Another FANTASTIC STUDENT shout-out, this time to Ellyn Blakeman, who received the OUTSTANDING STUDENT ORGANIZATION LEADER OF THE YEAR award at the Student Excellence Awards ceremony this week for her work with ! Well-deserved! Credit to all of our Pi Sigma Alpha members and to their fantastic advisor, Kristin Trenholm (who’s retiring this year! 😭) too! Thanks for the recognition , and all you do to support our students! 🐾

Today we say goodbye to Professor Steve Redd, our colleague and our friend. To all those whose life he impacted, we are so sorry for your loss. To his family, may his memory and knowing how many mourn his loss bring you comfort in the difficult days ahead. For us, he will be missed and he will be remembered.
