A big shout out to Peyton Albers, Noah Harmatys, Quinn Stein and Cole Van Roo as they were all awarded All State honors for the 2026 season.

Peyton was named First Team All State and Noah, Quinn and Cole were all named Honorable Mention All State.. What a well-deserved achievement for each of them and what an accomplishment for four players on our varsity team to be named All State in the same season…another first for the Waunakee Boys Golf program.

⛳ Save the Date 2026 Waunakee Golf Outing ⛳
📅 Saturday, July 18th (afternoon)
📍 Meadows at The Meadows of Six Mile Creek

We invite all current players, alumni, families, friends, and supporters of the Waunakee Golf program to join us for a day of golf, reconnecting, and celebrating the tradition and success of the Waunakee Golf. Whether you played on the team years ago, have a golfer in the program today, or simply enjoy supporting our student-athletes, this event is for you.

Our goal is to bring together generations of Waunakee Golf supporters for a fun day on the course while continuing to strengthen the connections that make our program so special.

The goal at the start of the 2026 season was to be playing golf at University Ridge on day 2 of the WIAA State Tournament. That goal was achieved by a group of guys who believed in themselves and each other and just continued to work hard every day. Their work ethic is second to none.

The Warriors came out firing on Day 1 shooting an impressive 298 and were a stroke out of 2nd place. Peyton Albers and Cole Van Roo led the Warriors with 73. What a round by Cole in his first state tournament appearance. Noah Harmatys, a freshman debuting in his first state tournament, shot an impressive 74. Quinn Stein had a 78 and Brooks Bowers 85.

The goal on Day 2 was to clean up the scorecard from Monday. We got off to a slow start and tried to rally but we just couldn’t find the mojo. The Warriors shot 309 and finished with a two day total of 607 and tied for 5th place. Noah Harmatys had another fantastic round shooting a 73 and his combined two day total of 147 put him in 16th place among the 104 golfers competing. What a great showing from Noah in his first state tournament, the Nobster showed no signs of nerves! Peyton shot a 76 on day two and finished at 149 and in 24th place. Brooks Bowers bounced back from a rough day one and shot 78. Quinn Stein had an 82 and Cole shot an 83.

This was the Warriors 4th appearance at state and tied for their second best state finish in program history. Couldn’t be more proud of this group as they gave their heart and soul every day. Erased memories of a heartbreaking sectional last year by winning their sectional for only the second time in program history. Won the Viking Invitate at Cedar Creek, the Waukesha West Invitate at Merrill Hillls, the Maple Bluff Quad and two Badger Large Mini Meets. Not bad for a group of “misfits” who like the Brewers don’t get any pre-season love but every year just go out and perform.

Hard to say goodbye to our seniors, Peyton and Cole, but their legacy will always be with their teammates and our program. We will miss their leadership and guidance but know they will always be part of the Waunakee Boys Golf Program. Thanks for keeping the foundation solid these past four years!

Day ONE Boys State Golf is on the books and we couldn’t be prouder of our Warriors!

A huge THANK YOU to all the students, parents, families, alumni and supporters who made the trip to University Ridge today. Your energy and encouragement means so much to our players.

The work isn’t finished. Tomorrow afternoon, our team will be back on the course battling for every shot as the continue to chase their goals.

If you are able, come out to University Ridge and cheer on the Warriors one more time. Let’s show our boys how much support they have behind them!
