La Semaine du Goût à NSFS, last week, was a wonderful opportunity for our students to discover new flavors and explore the cultures and traditions behind the food we share.

In 2nd grade/CE1, students took their learning beyond the classroom by volunteering at a local food bank Food Bank and helping pack food for the community.

In 5th grade/CM2, students learned about les bonnes manières à table (table manners), from setting the table correctly and identifying glasses and cutlery to learning how to be a gracious guest.

In Kindergarten/Grande Section, the students tasted different apple varieties, made applesauce following a recipe, discovered new kitchen tools, and explored their five senses!

A special thank-you to all the NSFS families who joined us on Friday to share their food and stories, and to everyone who sent a dish with their child. We loved seeing our community come together around the table.

🎷 NSFS goes jazz! 🎶

Saturday night, some NSFS staff members attended the "Soirée Jazz" gala, alongside representatives from other French bilingual schools in the Seattle area, French Immersion School of Washington, , and

Our music teacher, , played during the cocktail reception. Our head of school, Erin Brust, our advancement Lead, Catherine Sarenac and one of our French teachers who is also teaching at the Alliance, Mariam Farag, just joined for a fun picture posing as a jazz band. 🎤🎸🎺

And just like that… it’s been a week! Une semaine depuis la rentrée!

Our older students jumped right back in with review, assessments, and, of course, a little "conjugaison"! Meanwhile, in preschool and kindergarten, our youngest students are settling into their new routines, getting to know their teachers, and finding their rhythm.

The school year is officially underway...

North Seattle French School is proud to announce that, following the expansion of our preschool to full-day in 2025, the French Ministry of Education has extended our accreditation to include Cycle 1 (Maternelle: Preschool, preK & kindergarten).
Our entire school, from petite section to CM2, is now accredited by the French Ministry of Education. 🇫🇷
We are grateful to our teachers and staff for their hard work and commitment to our students every day. A special thank you to Céline Bourdales for her leadership throughout this process, and thank you to our families for their continued trust and support. 🎉

As our Board Chair for the past nine years, Jen Thiebaud helped guide NSFS through growth, accreditation, and important milestones while staying true to our mission. MERCI, Jen, for helping build the school we are today. 💙

More exciting news from our very first alumni class, who are graduating from high school this year. As we continue to hear about their plans for next year, we couldn't be prouder!

Our very first alumni class is graduating from high school this year, and we love hearing about their plans for next year.

Whether heading to Cal Poly (Business), McGill University (Kinesiology), Fordham University (English & Writing), Gonzaga University (Electrical Engineering), the University of Bordeaux in France (Biology and Sociology), or spending a year in Norway focused on skiing and climbing, we are proud of all they have accomplished and excited to see where their journeys take them next.
