πŸ’™πŸ’š The Shorewood High School Class of 2026 made it official last night!

Thirteen school years of hard work, growth, and memories culminated on that stage, and the energy in the room said it all. Shoreline School Board Directors were on hand to present diplomas, and from the first notes of Pomp and Circumstance to the moment those caps filled the air, it was a night Shorewood's newest graduates will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. Shoreline Schools is proud of every one of you. Go, Stormrays! βš‘πŸŽ“

πŸ’šπŸ’› Last night, Shorecrest High School celebrated one of the most meaningful traditions in education: graduation. The Class of 2026 walked across that stage with years of hard work, growth, and perseverance behind them, and a future full of possibility ahead.

Superintendent Reyes captured some behind-the-scenes moments from the evening, from the quiet anticipation before the ceremony to the caps flying high at the end. Those caps in the air say everything: joy, pride, and the unmistakable feeling of being ready for whatever comes next.

Congratulations to every member of the Shorecrest Class of 2026. We are so proud of you, and we cannot wait to see where you go. πŸŽ“βœ¨

Shiver me timbers, Kellogg Middle School! πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈ

The Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and 8th Grade Orchestra brought the house down at the annual spring Pops concert with a swashbuckling performance of music from Pirates of the Caribbean. And yes, band teacher Alec Wilmart conducted the whole thing in a pirate hat, sword as baton and all.

A special moment this year: the orchestra joined the Pops concert stage for the first time since remote learning, thanks to orchestra teacher Gillian Malacari and her talented musicians. Welcome back to the tradition, Kellogg Orchestra!

Turn up the volume and enjoy the show. πŸŽΆβš”οΈ

What a fun tradition for Einstein Middle School 8th graders!

The class of 2030 took part in the annual graduating class photo this year, and thanks to TSA members Brian Lee and Matthew Bowers, they got a view from above to go along with it. Brian and Matthew brought their technical skills to the shoot and captured an incredible drone photo to mark the occasion and preserve for posterity in the school's yearbook.

Congratulations to Einstein's class of 2030. We can't wait to see what's next for you. πŸŽ“πŸ“Έ

What a day at Shoreline Stadium! Our elementary running club athletes brought their best to the annual spring fun run, tackling the half mile, the full mile, or both on the hottest day of the year.

Walking, cheering, running, leaping, holding hands, and holding their heads high, the determination and heart on that track this spring was something special!

A huge thank you to our PE teachers and running club advisors for making this event possible and for supporting these students every step of the way, literally.

Way to run, Shoreline! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈβ˜€οΈ

πŸ† Congratulations to three incredible members of the Shoreline Schools community who received 2026 Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA) Regional Awards and were celebrated at the June 2 School Board meeting!

Mykah Redaja, a Shorecrest High School junior, received the Student Leadership Award. Incoming ASB President, Filipino Student Union Vice President, three-year varsity Hip Hop Team member, and civic leader, Mykah's advisor Mario Orallo Molinaro says it best: "Without Mykah, nothing would get done." She leads with integrity, celebrates culture, and makes Shorecrest a more inclusive and connected community.

Courtney Shuey, Shoreline PTA Council President, received the Community Leadership Award for her outstanding contributions to our schools and families. From chairing two successful levy committees to traveling to Olympia to advocate for paraeducators, Courtney's dedication, warmth, and results have made a real difference for students across the district.

Dr. Susana Reyes received the ward of Merit, recognizing her tireless advocacy for equity and students furthest from educational justice. Through her leadership in WASA and Washington Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (WALAS), her work on the State Board of Education, and her advocacy for immigration rights, Dr. Reyes lifts up Latino voices and inspires colleagues across Washington to push for meaningful change.

We are so proud of all three. Thank you for everything you do for Shoreline students and schools. πŸ‘

As shared by Head Coaches Reese and Villanueva:
After a tremendous season, 20 Stormray athletes (including two relay alternates) represented Shorewood at the WIAA State Track & Field Championships in Tacoma. Competing against 48 scoring teams in 3A boys, the Stormrays scored 68 points to decisively claim the state title, ahead of Liberty (49) and Lincoln (44).

πŸ’™πŸ’š The championship effort was fueled by standout performances across multiple events:
β€’ Jaden Marlow, Senior – State Champion in Long Jump and Pole Vault, 2nd Place in the 110m Hurdles, and 7th Place in Discus
β€’ Tyler Marlow, Sophomore – State Champion in Javelin with a school-record throw of 185'8", and 4th Place in Long Jump

Please join us in congratulating these student-athletes and coaches on this incredible accomplishment! πŸ†πŸ’™πŸ’š

πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ Happy Pride Month! πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

This June, we proudly celebrate and support our LGBTQIA2S+ students, staff, families, community members, and allies. Our schools are strongest when every person feels seen, valued, respected, and safe to be themselves.

Pride Month honors the history, resilience, and contributions of LGBTQIA2S+ communities, including the activists whose efforts helped advance equality and civil rights following the 1969 Stonewall uprising in New York City.

While Pride is a celebration, it is also an opportunity to reflect on the ongoing work of building welcoming and inclusive communities where everyone can thrive. In Shoreline schools, we remain committed to fostering learning environments where all students belong and have the support they need to succeed.

Throughout June, Pride flags will fly at our schools and district offices as a visible symbol of our commitment to inclusion, dignity, and belonging for all.

Join us in celebrating Pride Month and the many LGBTQIA2S+ individuals whose contributions enrich our schools, our community, and our world.
