Friday - Final hours for the Parkwood book fair and a new shipment arrived yesterday.

P's and Popcorn Night! Thank you to the families who came to learn about our Intervention, Title/Lap and MLL programs. Families were treated to popcorn and entertained by our students and staff in a Reader's Theater Performance. 😀 A Huge Shout Out to our amazing teachers ~ Ms. Mesler, Mrs. Spencer, Ms. Wagner, Ms. Patrick, Ms. Erdmanczyk for their organizing skills and acting talents. Special thanks to Mr. MacBurney and Ms. Small for opening the Book Fair and to our Leadership students: Kaylee Armstrong, Sam Bathke, Brianna Crow, Cooper Rogers, Ravi Sharma, Ada Wirkala-Bryant, Leia Wirkala-Bryant, Dahlia Wong for their help as well. It was a fun night for all!

👩‍🌾 Saturday 27, 2022 Parkwood Garden Spruce Up!
WE need your help! Our gardens need a little TLC and your help would be appreciated.

~ Please join us this Saturday, 27th, at 9:00 to pull some weeds and spread some woodchips.
~Please RSVP to [email protected] if you are willing and able to attend and if you possibly have any of the below mentioned items.

~PLEASE BRING any or all of the following, if you have it:
•rakes
•shovels
•wheelbarrows
•gloves for your use (we will have some disposable available)
•hoses and nozzles: we have 5 hooks ups (100 ft hoses would be awesome!)
•buckets
•hand trucks for the buckets
•claw or diggers
•tin snips for cutting cardboard
•weed pullers
•knee pads
•truly, ANYTHING ELSE you use in for your garden.

It may be hot please remember a water bottle~for your own consumption.

•Children are welcome and encouraged to help, please know the playground will not be available and no supervision will be offered.

•We are also looking:
~ bags of small gravel
~ anyone with landscaping expertise who would be willing to help supervise an area.

Congratulations to Parkwood Panther Adrianna Lindsay, PTA REFLECTIONS STATE WINNER in OUTSTANDING INTERPRETATION. Adrianna's entry was titled: Friend Like Me. Music by Will Smith. Adrianna's entry will be sent to the National Competition. We are so happy and proud of you! Good luck at Nationals!

Thank You, Parkwood PTA, for our new Volcano Climber! Our Panthers are excited for this new addition to the playground.

Kind is one of four expectations and it was KINDNESS week. Panthers have been busy practicing being the "I" in KIND!

This is a reminder that Kindergarten Enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year starts next week, February 2nd – February 28th. This is mostly an online enrollment process but there will be paper enrollment packets at Parkwood for any families that do not have access to a computer, internet or aren’t comfortable using technology. Even though our yearly Kinderfest was canceled for this year, there is plenty of information about the registration process on the Shoreline School District Website. Who's ready for kindergarten? Kindergarten Open Enrollment for Fall 2022 begins on February 2!

Kinderfest, which was scheduled for January 29, will not be held this year due to health and safety precautions. Instead, we will post an informational video, kindergarten registration resources and frequently asked questions on our student registration webpage https://www.shorelineschools.org/Domain/64 on January 29. Please check the webpage on or after that date for more information.

It's time to get your submissions in for Parkwood World Night and support our Parkwood Natural Leaders! From now until February 18th, register and submit a video, photo or recipe showcasing your family culture, heritage and traditions. Parkwood Natural Leaders will be using submissions to compile slideshows and videos to share on-line the week of World Night on March 23rd.
