This album contains painting images which are intended to be understood as visual reductions in spatial experience.
The first set are from the late 1990’s and are part of a series which began as an exercise beginning with representational images and extracting only the color and scale relationships required to convey an essential scale and light quality of the moment.
The second set are 10 tears later and are part of a series intended to communicate a sense of personal scale by extracting partial but essential scale and light components from images of body scale moments. This set stays closer to the form of the first set and therefore would probably fall into more of a stage-2 category than the first set which would fall into more into stage-3.

The images in this album are specifically intended as an abstract commentary on spatial experience. We do believe however, that this level of abstraction need not relate solely to spatial experience, and would like to know if anyone would contribute similar work and specifically that which is related to psychological or emotional abstraction.

Clearly there is well known historical work which meets these criteria, please feel free to discuss this work, though we are looking for contributions of your original work if you have such material to offer.
