My childhood friend is moving out of state & I gave her a hand with some heavy lifting and packing. She passed along a few items that they won’t be taking with them, including some of her mom’s jewelry. Before she left, I gave her a memento of some of the jewelry that stood out to me as meaningful or memorable that she can display at Christmastime and think of her late mom. It may not be everyone’s “cup of tea” but it sure did mean a lot to her.

Let’s take a little behind-the-scenes look at how things start out in the crochet world. Every time there’s a yarn color change, there’s a start AND a stop tail or end. These have to be woven in so they stay in place for use of the item, whether it be laundering or playing, or wearing & using, whatever the item is. This is not fun for any of us 😆 We allll complain about this part, because it can be tedious and we just want to keep on crocheting. But it’s a necessary part of the skill of crocheting & creating.
This can sometimes take longer than the actual project, depending upon how many colors are used. But it’s absolutely worth it, of course!

Let’s take a break from our Americana theme and talk about AI. Check out this cute Pooh Bear…..about 2 years ago, I followed the pattern & made it. And got this.
So you might think maybe I’m not good at reading patterns or I messed up somewhere along the way.
But I have been crocheting since I’m 12 and I’m almost 62. So that’s about 50 years of crochet experience. (And that goes way back to when there was no YouTube tutorials or Pinterest patterns, so reading patterns or winging it was my only option)
So this guy is my reminder to not trust AI. I felt embarrassed about it. And also I felt dumb that I fell for it- I will know from now on. If it looks too perfect to be true, it is
