Leadership. Discipline. A future in service. CCSD's Military & National Security pathway prepares students for more than enlistment — it prepares them for life. Through ROTC, drill, AP U.S. Government, and dual-credit Military Science coursework, students build fitness, character, leadership, and a deep understanding of the systems that protect and shape our nation. That legacy of courage and commitment lives on in CCSD classrooms and on our drill floors. Ready to lead? Visit ccsdnm.org/CareerTechnicalEducation or speak with your school counselor.

This program honors culture while preparing students for the careers of today and tomorrow. Ready to grow? Talk to your school counselor or visit ccsdnm.org/CareerTechnicalEducation.

🎓 Congratulations to our D.A.R.E. graduates at Kirtland Elementary School and Judy Nelson Elementary School!
Last month, sixth graders from both schools completed the 10-week D.A.R.E. program led by SRO VerHaar in partnership with the San Juan County Sheriff's Office.
These students walked across the gym floor having earned more than a certificate — they gained real tools for making smart decisions, resisting peer pressure, and standing up for themselves and their community.
A huge thank you to SRO VerHaar, the San Juan County Sheriff's Office, and the staff at both schools for investing in our students. D.A.R.E. is more than a program — it's a commitment to the future of our children.

The district office got a special treat this week — a visit from some of CCSD's newest interns! Through the Innovation Zone Grant, CCSD is proud to offer FFA students a first-of-its-kind in-house internship experience, bringing real industry opportunities directly to our agriculture students.
These young interns are building résumés, sharpening employability skills, and completing their CTE coursework — all while earning stipends through 20–25 hours of meaningful, hands-on work each week.
This is work-based learning: rooted in community, driven by purpose, and designed to open doors. And we're just getting started — the district hopes to expand this model into additional CTE programs in the future. Congratulations to our FFA interns on completing the application process and taking this exciting step forward.
